Great read. I really wish we knew what exactly it was that he did to get him kicked off the team. Guess we'll probably never know for sure but it sure sounds like it was a major attitude issue and not being a good teammate. I'm sure us winning the whole thing really made things hit home for him and realize he really missed out. I'd love to see Sheed get a fresh start and have a chance to make it in the league, maybe at Arizona St...

Thanks for posting. I'm glad the truth is coming out and also that Rasheed has used this adversity as an opportunity to mature. I wish him nothing but the best and hope he finds success on the next level.

I'm glad he is taking responsibility and also glad that the sexual allegations were not part of the reason for dismissal.. It really seems like what K said is true, it was a lot of things built up over time and I'm guessing he had an incident after the ND game that would have got any other player suspended for a game, but with Sheeds history, he was dismissed..

It would've been nice to have Sheed on next years squad to fill that backup PG role.. but then again, we may not have won this year if he hadn't been dismissed.

Although the Chronicle's good for a student newspaper, I think they clearly didn't handle that article with the level of care and delicacy it deserved. When you're thinking about publishing an article about an alleged rape + cover-up, you can't rush to print based on what they had -- even if clearly it does raise a couple eyebrows -- b/c there's no real way to walk back the reputational harm associated with being connected to two supposed rape allegations.

I'm glad he finally talked about the situation. I can openly admit i was waiting to hear some real comments before basing my opinions on him. sounds like the assault was all BS. I do feel bad he couldn't get his crap together, he missed out on something amazingly special.

This is the defining quote from the article and I think it sums everything up:

"I called my dad in great tears, telling him, 'Dad, I really missed out on something, I could have been a part of something that was bigger than me, and something that could have lasted a lifetime."

Sad all around.
