Episode III is the best of the prequels - by a wide margin.

ROTJ is light years better than Ep III. It's still a damn good film, just doesn't measure up to the first two.

EDIT: Episode II is by far the worst of any. It's not just a bad Star Wars movie - it's just a bad movie.

IDK man... Episode I had boy Annakin and a WHOLE lot of Jar Jar Binks... Those 2 just sucked the life out of the entire movie... Although the contrived dialogue and acting between Annakin and Padme followed by their 0 chemistry made for one of the most ultimate cringeworthy love stories in Episode II.

The only good thing that came out of the prequels are the red letter media[/URL] reviews of them. Those films are horrible on multiple levels.

The best Saber fights? No best Saber fights were Luke verse Vader both times. Less is more in this case.

Yeah seeing Vader become Vader was awesome until they chopped his balls off in the very same scene.

Return of the Jedi is great. The throne room scene is one of the best scenes in the entire franchise. The only real thing that bugs me about it is that Han and Chewie are essentially sidelined with a bunch of Ewoks instead of piloting the Falcon into battle.

My son has never seen a Star Wars movie so I might watch 1-6 in order with him to keep everything a surprise all the way through episode 6 and then take him to see the new one. He is only 13 now so he won't hate the first 3 like so many do and will be able to judge them on their own and not compared to 4-6.

Whoops, been a while since I watched any of them that I totally forgot about the twins being born and then hidden from Anakin. I don't recall if they gave away their names or not so it might still be a surprise.

If I had never seen a star wars movie and the first one someone made me watch was Episode I I literally would not have watched any of the other ones. True story. How any of you can think spending four hours on episodes I and II from the get-go is a good idea is mind boggling to me. I watched and loved Episodes 4-6 and I literally have never seen nor have any intention of ever seeing episode III. After Episode I and II I completely swore off the new trilogy, I'm not wasting two hours of my life for any of the new trilogy garbage. They honestly completely tarnished episodes 4-6 for me as well, to the point where I'm excited but not that excited for the new trilogy, they were that bad. Just skip over them all together.

I stand by my assessment of Episode III and ROTJ. I don't know how as a Star Wars fan, you cannot find those films entertaining. I get not liking Episode I and II because they're pretty bad and the political storyline and bad dialogue and what not but Episode III makes up for it with General Grev, lightsaber battles, the ending (minus the "Noooo"), Obi Wan Vs Anakin, Vader coming to film for the first time in 22 years, etc.

Now why does ROTJ get so much hate? The ewoks? That film had an awesome opening and an awesome ending.

The only thing I didn't like about EP 1-3 is that they are light years ahead on the special effects. I thought they should have been capable of keeping it in the same line as EP 4-6, and that may sound stupid but if we were that far ahead years later would t we have been able to do that still? It could t have been too hard.

I don't really get into all the little things that book readers and movie graders get into, I pretty much mark out because there is another Star Wars movie and I'm satisfied with that. Good/Bad whatever it's all good to me!!!

I have all 6 movies though and just might have to re watch them over the summer to get ready!

I wouldn't even suggest to my worst enemy they watch these films in order from 1 to 6. You should always start with 4. THEN after you watch those 3 movies if you are STILL interested in the first 3 films go find some fan edited versions of the first 3 and watch THOSE.

I think I have 3 different fan cuts of each of the prequel movies where fans have either cut out unnecessary dialog and plot points or have even added some deleted things.

Hayden Christianson and that Jake Loyd kid just about ruined those 3 movies IMO.

That being said, the Clone Wars cartoons are good and that new Rebels cartoon isn't too bad if you wanna get your fanboy on!

You guys claiming episode III wasn't that bad are full of it. I actually didn't see it because Episode I and II were so awful that I refused to ruin Star Wars even more for myself, but to claim anything in the prequels isn't that bad is just fanboy blinders. It still got pretty terrible reviews, and it still had Natalie Portman and Hayden Christenson(sp?) in it. I'm sure the special effects and lightsaber fights were super cheesy as well as the dialogue, and the whole prequels were so bad that the guy who created Star Wars, literally the guy who invented the whole damn universe and made billions isn't even allowed to be involved anymore and his company got bought out. So bull on it not being bad.

The throne room fight scenes? The sarlac pit/Jabaa, Luke as a bad *** mother touchin black suit wearing ninja jedi master? The Emperor? The destruction of the rebel alliance? .

I love the throne room scenes and the Emperor. Ewoks defeating the empire was a joke. Just a joke. It was pathetic and completely takes me out of the film. The entire first act of Jedi was pointless as well. I like Jaba and Boba Fett, but it was all pointless. At the end of the day they got Han back, no consequences.

The Jedi genocide scene(s) of Order 66 were great. Anakin vs Obi-wan was great. Seeing the wookie homeland was great. And Anakin massacring the remnants of the Trade Federation on Mustafar while intercut with Palpatine's speech about becoming an Empire was amazing.

Sorry, but I like Sith more than Jedi as overall films. The throne room stuff alone isn't good enough to elevate it ahead.

I know its hip to hate on all of the prequels but I liked ROTS a lot. I didn't like the first two (I thought Phantom Menace was painfully bad outside of Darth Maul) but Episode III was a lot of fun for me. Great score, Vader, Anakin's switch, killing everybody, Obi Wan at the end...a lot of fun.

I know everyone will get a good laugh but Return of the Jedi is my favorite one and always has been. I know Empire is the most critically acclaimed one and probably the best made but I've always enjoyed ROTJ the most.

Okay as for the new one, I need some help. So I've read that the new villain in Kylo Ren but he looks like Darth Raven pics I've seen. Any other nerds can help give me the scoop?
