Last time I looked Messiah Swinson didn't have us in his top tier of offers. I don't think there's much of a chance we land him.

You don't have to be the fastest guy on the field to be a good possession wide receiver. For that, good size, good foot work, the ability to get in and out of your cuts quickly - crisp patterns, and strong but soft hands are important, and be an excellent blocker. Not every WR on the field has to be able to outrun the DBs to fit into a good scheme.

redzone guys. There's some good Rivals camp video of at least one of the new commits going up and just reaching over the DB for a catch. Frost is going to dramatically improve our redzone efficiency IMO.

Cam was recruited by this staff as an athlete. Swinson has also been talked about on the defensive side. Iowa has recruited TE in the past and turned them into NFL linemen. You never know what these guys will look like by junior year.

i'm sure some of you heard Jurgens interview. i can't remember who he said would like him on the defensive side, and that he mentioned it to coach Frost when he talked to him and Frost stated he wanted him on the offensive side.

Jurgens looks to be a DE, LeGrone and McGriff are wide receivers.

Jurgens said he will start out on offense. He is listed as a TE on the official release by the athletic department seen here: http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=100&ATCLID=211690411

There's also David Engelhaupt, who was not mentioned.

So Engelhaupt, Stoll, Allen, Rafdal, Snyder, Jurgens, then a couple of hybrids in McGriff and LeGrone, and possibly Swinson. Seems like a lot for that position, especially when we have greater needs at other positions.

Sure would like to see Jurgens on the defensive side. Seems like he might grow out of the TE position, and I'm not saying that in a bad way at all.

On the other hand, the kid clearly loves to block and finish people on offense.

McGriff and LeGrone are going to start at least as WRs but you aren't going to likely see Frost offer any fullbacks for his offense in the future. He uses TEs in the backfield when he wants a blocker back there.

IF he would grow out of the TE position, he could be a tremendously athletic OT for us.

Part of utilizing speed on the edge is putting bigger WR/TE types outside or in the slot to block. Jumbo sets won't be seen much if ever.

So I wonder what will happen with Ben Miles? I don't see where he would fit in this offense.

Ive seen him up close- he doesnt have the height and frame to be an OLineman or OT IMO. The kid is a real athlete.
He has excellent athleticism, explosiveness, body control etc Would make a good ILB IMO if he can stay healthy. In the BIG you need size and speed at ILB.

Yeah, I definitely can see Frost emphasizing blocking by WRs downfield. A few big Anquan Boldin types don't hurt if they can get seperation and have soft hands.
