Paying $200/month was just absurd. Turned in the boxes and kept the Internet. Now researching what your experiences are and what equipment is best.

Signed up to Sling in order to get HBO. Need a streaming stick.

What services should I look at and what equipment works well for the price?

Thanks

You may want to look at the Amazon Fire stick that has Kodi installed. Available on Ebay from about $65-$75. There's a number of cable channels that make their content available through the Kodi app, without fees.

I'd like to do it too. I pay directv around $200 per for the total package. I'm close enough to pick up locals on my antenna. I'd like to still get HBO, ESPN and wife needs bravo.
I have a roku 2 and have Amazon prime and Netflix. I basicly have Netflix for House of Cards, Amazon prime for free 2 day shipping.

With sling, you will soon be able to get HBO to go service, you also get two main ESPN channels.

With Amazon fire stick you just need wifi (fast connection) and you can stream Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, etc. But with Kodi 14.2 you may be amazed at how many channels will be made available to you.

I just bought a cheapo digital antennae and can pick up 38 channels in MWC. (GE - $11 @ Walmart.) I thought for certain I would have to get an powered/amplified antennae, but absolutely no need as I discovered.
