Mine did for me as well, she got them at Dawahares I think and shipped them to me in Daytona Beach. She was also my “Mamaw.”
Nike owns converse now.
Also of note, I saw pope in a recent video from one of the recent fan camps and he was wearing a new Nike hat with the old school wildcat logo…so I suspect we see it reintroduced as well
I think these are modified Nikes. Maybe PGs? I’d be shocked if this was a real production shoe already but it would be cool.

Story behind it is nike sent him a pair to promote converse.
I know a really good way they could promote converse…. By letting the old converse flagship program have exclusive access to a few throw back jerseys and different new shoe concepts while still also getting to wear traditional Nike jerseys half time as well. Like UNC w Jordan brand but making us a hybrid Nike/Converse school depending on the jerseys we wear

Never understood why UK doesn’t have its own logo. Duke does. The D with a basketball and hoop inside.
I only kept 2 pairs of my Nikes when I switched to On 5-6 years ago. Both UK themed. This is a pair of "Nikes" I'd buy.

Grew up wearing white converse. Now, let's get permission to use new football commit Andrew Purcell's high school logo.
My favorite jerseys. I remember when they came out in ‘95 there were more people who didn’t like them. They became more popular after they went away.
I'd be cool if these in a Kentucky blue were our permanent traditional unis, with the denim marble look as alternates.
