Blown double digit lead at home late in the second half. Meltdown. Penn State is underwhelming. I was going to be annoyed at our fans for these awful turnouts but they’re justified. This was a game the Cats needed to win & probably somewhat handily. They were on their way, then they choked. Same problems, or new problems from the previous problems. Same result. The conference season could be brutal a slog. Again. May need to stop watching for my own mental health. Rough time to be an NU fan. Hard to blame the recent high profile decommit. Need to log off.

Despite not being a big basketball guy, I enjoy NU Hoops a lot, and I loved going to games on campus (I think I attended every home. game during classes my last two years at NU plus several road games and a big ten tournament), but I just can’t emotionally invest into the team as a part of my adult life given how soul crushing they are. So I admit I’m a bit of a fair weather fan. I started watching again this year to make sure I’d be familiar with the team late in the season if we had a tourney run to get invested in.

A veteran team with a veteran coach blowing a 10-point lead to a mediocre team at home. Totally inexcusable.
Funny how many of Fitz's teams have developed the 'Cardiac Cats' mantra... while on the hardwood, it's just pure Cardiac Arrest.
Penn State is an average team, they aren’t mediocre. Having said that this is a team that NU should beat at home, especially when we have a 10 pt lead with 8-10 mins left
Let's wordsmith this. Mediocre: of only moderate quality; not very good. It's a disparaging term that colloquially means below, but close to average. Meantime, Penn State has beaten Indiana and nobody else. They may improve, but to call a team that has only beaten Youngstown, Wagner, Cornell, Oregon State (3-10) and big win v IU "mediocre" is fair.
