I don't know of another team that identifies itself as a verb or adjective...

Must be a new gender thing?

I mean most of the time the team identifies as a noun.

The other 3 teams have their grammar along more traditional roles...

Boston Guard, California Palms and Maryland Charm

but I have to say I don't like any of those names - way too passive.

Most of the time, for sure. Could they have gotten inspiration from a (men's) soccer team in the USL called Phoenix Rising? Seems like a pretty successful franchise in the desert.
