Did you hit your head? Of course he will. He will do only what he believes his base will like. He once said he supports tarrifs, so now his base supports tarrifs. His base supports tarrifs, so he will continue to place and increase tarrifs. It's a merry-go-round of economic ruin.

Would be hysterical if he did. Much like the 5% Mexico tariffs, I think he'll find a way to delay any new tariffs and claim a win.

I wonder if he has anything resembling an 'end game' if China doesn't budge before the election and he has to fabricate a win for his campaign's sake.

No, he'll have a "I won" out.
Hmmmm. Wonder if he imposes the add'l tariffs now with the hope of coming to a "deal" in 2020 to jack up the stock market? What does he do when China mocks him and rebuffs his claims? What a stupid trade policy, what a stupid trade war, what a stupid President and what a stupid group of supporters. And so this is not all Orange Man Bad to you nuts, I have zero doubt ultra lib politicians and supporters secretly agree with Trump.

He'll get some concession on IP theft and call that the win. Claim that's what it's been all about to begin with.

Either that... or free fireworks.

Trump trying to outsmart the Chinese is like watching a dog chase his tail.

He is incapable of looking at situations from anyone else's eyes. It's why he so badly misjudged Kim.

Trump doesnt understand that he was way more skin in the game than Xi does. A trade war hurts both economies, but Xi has far more rope than Trumo does. There is almost no possibility of Xi ever losing power, so a couple years of slowdown doesn't hurt him. Do some people starve? Probably, but it doesn't affect the Chinese government in the same way. They simply cover that up and move right along.

The Chinese have been around for 4,000 years. They arent concerned about taking on some hardship for a couple.

^^This^^

Biff will eventually figure out that we aren't going to win a trade war with China on the basis that our economy is bigger and stronger. That dog don't hunt.

True, the Chinese should just sit on their hands. Trump will start sweating profusely (and increase tariffs) as we approach the 2020 election.
