We have a few guys visiting this weekend that we seem to be in pretty good shape with: Lynch, Hodge, Dennis. Hopefully we can put on a good enough show to close with these guys.

Lynch has a playoff game Friday night. Will visit another weekend.

Nice! Just like the Solich and Pelini days....
We need to find good football players regardless of the stars that they have. I would rather have a three star with an average offer list than a four star with an impressive list of uncommittable offers, because other schools are probably avoiding those guys for a good reason.

We need to do better than either of those scenarios. I have been critical of Frost’s statement that he doesn’t need to hire ace recruiters and I still am.

I'm with you on that. Imagine if Donte Williams was coaching our OLB's instead of Oregon's. I bet we would have some guys that can rush the passer. If we had kept Keith Williams, I bet we would have an outside receiver or two with a pulse, to replace Stan.

too often some do not include recruiting as being under the umbrella of coaching

talent evaluation and acquisition is every bit as important as the X's and Os, developmental, in game decision making aspects of coaching.

Coaches need to be able to project the ability to perform at a high power 5 level based on film and in person evals. They then need to be able to convince these kids to come to Nebraska. That is coaching in collegiate sports.

Did Frost really make that comment? - have a hard time believing he would.

I have to agree, I don't like our chances in any more games.

You want to know who has a win-now mentality? Not just the fans, not primarily the fans. The players. There's nothing more de-motivating than "building for the future." There's nothing more discouraging for the existing roster of players than hearing that we need a few more recruiting classes to make this work. It's hard to ask them to play hard when at least some of them believe that the QB who gives them the best chance to win is sitting on the bench. It's hard to ask them to let 'er rip when the coaches won't show that same attitude in play calling.

Players shouldn't be expected to play hard if they think someone not getting PT should be? There will always be players that think so and so should be playing, that is no reason not to compete.

Just saw in another thread that Vedral is out for the season. So do the players that wanted him play hard now? Is that how it works?

8 visitors this weekend 3 of them are WR's. 1 is juco. We need those WR's badly so we can take this offense to the next level.

Do we have a legit chance with any of these visitors? Or are they just coming to enjoy a free trip to Lincoln in November.

yes we do, we have several 4 star guys coming and a number of 5.7 3 star guys. They wouldn’t be visiting if they had no interest. People thinking they are visiting for the free visit are definitely clueless. It’s Lincoln Nebraska during the winter for heavens sake.

And Yes we can beat Maryland. They aren’t any better or worse then us. Literally two teams that have sucked defensively and have hit or miss offenses this year.

I see. Very similar to Purdue.

Big time. Imagine how different our offense would look with Betts and Manning on the outside next year. I know, it is far from a given either will be here. WR recruiting and development has been by far the biggest disappointment for me this year (and yes I have seen our OL).

i damn near guarantee Zavier Betts will qualify, all he ever needed to do was actually try and you know me, I’m already expecting to see Omar Manning pick us in the near future ;)

If we want to compete for B10 championships, we need to land these guys. No if's/and's/ or but's about it.

hopefully you’re not making fun of this. I thought it was cool. Klover and my son Payton play on the same team. I been watching those young men play for years now.
Bruh, I was laughing because the second comment in this thread was “do walk ons count?”. I thought it was funny, because the next commitment was from.....you guessed it, a walk on. Also, see post 22.

Any kid worth an FBS offer from Nebraska should be offered.

They should be our base and since we want to RS...give them time to develop.

We aren't getting quality walkons as much anymore. Just my opinion.
