Yeah, this is a stupid time to start talking about 2017-18.

But the Cats are going to be REAL good next year. Add Falzon, Rap and Gaines and the offensive firepower will be the best we have ever seen at NU. Ever.

Sanjay will be missed. The 7th best rebounder in the Big 10. But NU will have mucho talented wings to pick up the slack. Add another year of experience and strength to McIntosh, Lindsey, Law Jr., Pardon, Skelly and Brown and we got something special in Evanston.......

When we have a legit chance to make the dance and are really excited for next year that's a great sign!! Falzon takes taps role and then some. (I'm saying role as 3 point shooter but falzon has much more upside and can score in other ways) lumpkin is the only guy that will have to be replaced by committee unless skelly maybe? RI I'm assuming not having seen him play will offer more offense but Sanjay D and rebounding I see being replaced by committee. Everyone else gets another year of development it'll be awesome

Not too shabby for a wing playing (way undersized) at the PF spot.

The key to the team winning ugly has been their D, making the opponent struggle to hit shots, causing turnovers and/or grabbing offensive rebounds.

Losing Lumpkin, in that respect, will hurt the D, but expect improvement from Pardon and Skelly to make up for some of it and the rest being made up by additional offensive punch from Falzon and Rap.

The power forward spot could be a problem if Skelly doesn't cut down on his fouls. He averages 6.5 fouls per 40 minutes right now. At that rate, he would foul out of almost every game as a starter. The best-case scenario would be a fifth-year transfer who could replace Lumpkin's defense and maybe some of his shooting, as Falzon and Rap mature and compete for minutes.

^ Cutting down on fouls comes with added experience, and even if Skelly starts (which is up in air), Falzon or Rap would be splitting major minutes at the 4 w/ Skelly.

With a year under his belt, BB will be a real nice option off the bench. There's something there. He just needs to be molded a bit more.

Skelly is a good call as he would likely not be needed in the C role as Benson should be ready for prime time by then. Frees up Skelly to concentrate on the 4 position. And Ash might have a bigger role because of his D in certain matchups.
