I heard -- rumor-mill stuff -- that the B1G had already decided that only the top 15 teams after the regular season would make the tournament. Any truth to that?

That was reported by multiple media outlets, though not sure it's set in stone. Guess they want to avoid the risk of the truly bad teams having the opportunity to knock out a bubble team?

Reminds those of a certain age of the PBA on Saturday afternoons with Chris Schenkel. 5 played 4. Winner played 3. winner of that played 2, and so on.

Johnny Petraglia, Marshall Holman, Carmen Salvino. The perfect thing to watch on the couch on a lazy Saturday.

Don't forget Don Carter, Ray Bluth, Dick Weber. In Chicago there was "Whispering Joe Wilson" at the microphone.

I'm partial to Ernie Schlegel, Art Trask, and the magnificently named Guppy Troup.

I wonder how many of those PBA stars of the 1970s and 1980s were secretly serial killers, because pretty much all of them looked the part.

Or last week...PBA still does the stepladder format and airs on Fox.

That wouldn’t happen. The bottom 5 teams need to play another season in one week to make it in.
