If Stoops can avoid any more members of his staff setting the program back, I think he'll do incredibly well.

Seems like everyone is on board so far again. Tomorrow's presser with Gran and Hinshaw will be very telling.

Question: would Krok and Richardson both have started this past season at OT instead of Swindle and Meadows/GAA?

I think that Krok transferred to Akron and Richardson quit football… So doubtful.

Tackles: Leavitt & Young. Guards: Big George & Meadows. Center: Toth.
I think Landon Young is best tackle recruit since Warren Bryant! Never seen a better high school heavy weight wrestler than Landon. Long, strong, great hip rotation, quick feet, very smart, and bleeds Blue! If Landon redshirts then o. line will be a strength position for the CATS!
Also think redshirt freshmen Logan Stenburg & Mason Wolfe will play.

I agree with you about Young…but why do you have Kyle Meadows at guard? I thought he was a tackle all the way?

I think the ability to slide big George into his more natural guard position, and with a full year of starting under his belt, is going to be a huge net gain for us.

Gut feeling with Kyle Meadows to guard. Kyle is a long, strong tough guy, but had trouble with SEC speed rushers. Now with experience and his demeanor I'd move Him to the inside. To me Big George at guard is a natural. Bunchy Stallings with his size and some experience I think this season is now or never. Zack Meyers I'm told maybe strongest o. lineman on the team. He played a little last season as center his natural position and think he will be the reason hot prospect Drake Jackson will be able to redshirt! Tackle prospect that intrigues me is redshirt freshman 6'9" Calvin Taylor I believe was a very good student basketball player from a Christian School in the Augusta area. Players above with returning lettermen Haynes, Ramsey Meyers, Mosier plus redshirts Stenburg and Wolfe should make O. line a team strength. If this is a solid SEC unit and can line up battled tested 6'5" 245 lb. Conrad and 6'4" 246 lb. Long at each end with our backs I believe we will finally be successful running the ball!
Don't know status of redshirt lineman Jarrett LaRubbio, anyone?

R. Meyers is a 2-year starter, will take a lot to unseat him. If somebody beats him out it'd mean that guy's a really good player.

IIRC, LaRubbio had knee surgery after his senior year in HS and RSed his true freshman year at UK. He played sparingly in '15. Should be at least a serviceable back-up.

Why in the world do some of you people want to burn Jackson's RS year playing token snaps when we have a 5th yr sr/3 yr starter at center. crazy. Drake can learn how to play college football plenty enough going through Spring 16, Fall 16, & Spring 17 and be ready to start at C as a RS the fall of 2017. Esp since his measurements show he is a C all the way, does not project well to playing any snaps at G. So lets piss away a year of his eligibility next year, instead of having him around as a 5th yr sr/multi year starter? Insanity.

but yeah, our T situation is so bad that Young is gonna have to play as a true frosh

Logic/common sense have no place in this discussion...

JHB, unfortunately it's the basketball mentality of some on this site. If you can't play as a true freshman you ain't no good. They can't grasp the notion that it's better to swap a true freshman year for a 5th year senior year.

Seems like these backups have been here forever.
When will they graduate?......[eyeroll]

Hopefully within the next 2 years.

Explaining football to a basketball fan is like trying to explain why UK basketball is better than UL basketball to a UL fan... In a sense. Should be very straight-forward that there are major differences, but certain concepts simply escape them.

oh and I'm not a HOB member so have not viewed the threads in question.....but I have a VERY hard time believing M. Jones has stayed around Lexington since early August when Stoops kicked him out & has done whatever he needed to do to get back in good with the head coach to be allowed back on the team

if there was even a possibility of that happening then Stoops would not have been so final in his dismissal 5 months ago

If Jones is back on the team he is a day 1 starter without question. Probably the best player on the O Line as well. Kid was highly touted out of HS and would've started for Ohio State had he not gotten kicked off of the team.

He wasn't kicked off OSU he transferred for more playing time here, he was dimissed from UK, but not OSU.
