I kinda liked Jimmy for a year or so. His shtick has grown old though. He just seems like he sits around all day coming up with some new line. TBH, I don’t like color commentary. Too much gun flappin’

Easy to solve this- delay your TV and sync it up with Tom Leach and Goose Givens then you won't have to listen to the TV announcers during UK basketball games
What drives me nuts is that he is the king of hyperbole.
How many times a game does he say something like:
“This kid is the best in the nation at…”
“This team is the best when it comes to…”
“This is the most ____ league in the country…”
“When it comes to this no one is going to out coach…”

I am not a Dykes fan at all but I don't buy that he is anti Kentucky. He simply talks nonstop hoping he can coin a new basketball go to word.
i don't think he's anti-UK just severly pro UT. i believe years ago Cal stopped jimmy's and others among the press with an all access come as you go pass to the program. and around that time barnes and jimmy became close and he got that access there.
this was around the time when he started using the nicknames for UT players instead of their real name...you know being professional.

Agreed. I have noticed that him and the other guy (don’t remember his name) always want to see the home team win. They get sucked into the atmosphere and don’t want it to stop.
I have more than 30 posts and didn’t hear a single bad thing he said about UK. He was not biased towards either team. He’s always been very complimentary towards us. You move along.
Dykes is more to my liking than people along the lines of Vitale, Raftery and Gus Johnson. But Dykes certainly has a lot of Bilas in him.

I couldn't have watched the game tonight without a "mute" button on my remote. The guy is nauseating.
That game was a 2 1/2 hour infomercial selling John Calipari with Jimmy Dykes as the spokesperson.

Yeah last nights " I've been around for 342 years and NEVER EVER heard Rupp Arena like this " ( as Ark ran out ahead late). was infuriating .. I guess he was on a vent in ICU when his boy Bennie went 9-16 , or lost to a string of bums in Rupp ... he can ROT IMO
