What we thinking for anymore additions for this season and next?

Right now, looking like (Using WrestleStat Rankings):
2025-26 Season
125 #4 Dean Peterson, Sr (R12, NQ, R12)
133 #3 Drake Ayala, Sr (2nd, 2nd, NQ)
141 #9 Nasir Bailey, Jr (R16, 4th)
149 #7 Jordan Williams, Jr (R12, R16)
157 Victor Voinovich, Sr (R16 2023)
165 #2 Michael Caliendo, Sr (2nd, 4th, 7th)
174 #3 Patrick Kennedy, Sr (4th, R12, R16)
184 #1 Angelo Ferrari, Fr
197 Massoma Endene, Sr (DIII NC, DIII NC, DIII NC)
285 #6 Ben Kueter, So (8th)

Meaningful Backups:
125 Joey Cruz, Jr (#33 C/O 2022; #16 @ 120)
125 Leo DeLuca, Redshirt (#9 C/O 2025; #1 @ 120)
133 Kale Petersen, So (#52 C/O 2023; #5 @ 132)
141 Ryder Block, So (#22 C/O 2023; #2 @ 138 [Behind Nasir Bailey])
149 K. Voinovich, So (#99 C/O 2024; #16 @ 157)
157 Miguel Estrada, So (#48 C/O 2024; #11 @ 150)
165 Claudio Torres, Redshirt (#69 C/O 2025; #7 @ 165)
174 Tyrell Miller, Redshirt (#80 C/O 2025, #11 @ 175)
184 #10 Gabe Arnold, So (#5 C/O 2023; #1 @ 170)
197 Harvey Ludington, Redshirt (#15 C/O 2025, #1 @190)

Meaningful Recruits
285 Michael Mocco, (#15 C/O 2026; #7 @ 285)

2026-27 Season
125 Leo DeLuca, Fr
133 Kale Petersen, Jr
141 Nasir Bailey, Sr
149 Jordan Williams, Sr
157 Ryder Block, Jr/Miguel Estrada, Jr/K. Voinovich, Jr
165 Claudio Torres, Fr
174 Gabe Arnold, Jr
184 Angelo Ferrari, So
197 Harvey Ludington, Fr
285 Ben Kueter, Jr

Seems only real hole for both season is 157. Getting a Junior Transfer at 157 before this season would be insane. I hear #4 Daniel Cardenas might come over from Stanford second semester and wrestle for us for two years? That would fill both season with 10 AA caliber wrestlers, in my opinion. 133 might be iffy in 26-27.

What's everyone's thoughts on this season and next season rosters? Any more meaningful additions? Any solid recruits leaning our way? For C/O 2027, looks like at 157 maybe we can have Amato and Booe, both top 10 guys. At 125/133 maybe Sidun and Bachmann? Both weights we'll need, but one season too late unless they don't want to redshirt. Either one would complement DeLuca whether he career 125 or bumps to 133. May need a couple portal guys to fill in 133 & 157 to give these guys time to cook.

I heard that Penn State is all over Sidun and Iowa never made a home visit to him. Also heard that Iowa is very very very heavy on Amato.

Don’t shoot the messenger, but for those who haven’t seen this, between his admiration for Zain and his aspirations beyond college wrestling, I’d be surprised if he didn’t choose PSU.

Since we have DeLuca, we don't need both Sidun and Bachmann. As long as we get one to complement DeLuca, I'm all set. I know they're both PA boys, but hopefully one comes over to Lightweight U!

If Voinovich can stay healthy, 157 shouldn't be near the "hole" many think it is. He has already made the R16 and is definitely capable of reaching the bottom area of the podium. With that said, they have a VERY formidable line up. Sadly, PSU is still in a completely different stratosphere, but this team, if they can finally stay healthy, is about as close as any team can realistically get this season...

Estrada will be at 157 as well.

I think Voinovich is the guy, IF he can stay healthy. He actually has some offense if he has his full range of motion. I guess time will tell...
Getting to the legs has never been an issue it's finishing once there that's been his issue. If he fixes that he will be really good. Estrada and Voinivich will be a battle

Marinelli didn't finish his first year either but coaches made him one of the quickest finishers. I hope it's been a focus for him and the coaching staff.

He's be a Soph for both sports...but i have to believe the football ship has nearly sailed.

And we will have a massive hole at 133 after Drake. Kale has a long way to go to even be an AA threat.
Did Ben say he was taking a medical redshirt for football this year? I thought I saw that somewhere

Coulda, shoulda, woulda my coach would say but we had the Raneys til we didn't have the Raneys. Hawks will likely find a stud 33 recruit and plug in a 1-2 year rental til ready.

Jordan Williams going 57? It was mentioned on bash and the brain. So would that mean Estrada,Block, and the Voinovichs at 49
Would be nice to see Block healthy and at 49 to see if he can improve more to his potential. JW is talented and will decide which weight he wants, just has to be all in and focus on the good lifestyle. I sure hope he does get it right for himself the next 2 years. Also, going to need a nickname for him.

Dido on block he looked really sucked down at 41. And I believe William's was called the iceman by some cause off some clutch takedowns at the end of matches one match in particular I remmber was a fargo final against rathjen when he hit a big move right at the end

If the Voinovich/Estrada battle moves to 49, who does that help? V still the favorite?
If Estrada is as strong and quick with the move down to 49, I would favor him but also have not seen as much matches with the Voinviches. A healthy Block would have to be in the competition as well.

I thought Estrada was more of a 49 wrestling at 57 for the team but that was just my opinion and that could of course change if hes gotten bigger

Yes, I think that he was wrestling up a weight to cover 57 because of an injury to Teemer. He is listed on roster as 149/157. But to me last year he looked all of 57. He is bulky but so was Lugo for the weight.

Lugo was a 149 who went 65 kg (143 lb) for freestyle.

That'd be interesting. 149 too hard for him to hold? or is it better for the team for him to go 157 so the weaker guys can wrestle their ideal weights?

Does anybody know what happened with the Miller twins ? Saw that Jarrel is going to Iowa Central and Tyrel is still coming to Iowa City. Is Jarrel going the JUCO route? I felt like the boys had a high ceiling

Not sure but idk if it's a roster cap thing and maybe jarrel joins next year or with the juco ruling jarrel is going there for a year but wasnt that juco thing just for this year so far?
