Oklahoma an early 7 or 71/2 favorite. That's quite a bit of respect from Vegas considering the game is in Norman. Guess that line may head north a bit but certainly did not anticipate that line before the season started.

Actually it opened with the Sooners as a nine point favorite. I don't really see that as a sign of respect at all. At this point it's difficult to say how good WVU is but they're 3-0 with three easy wins and the Sooners have been anything but impressive so far.

I guess we disagree on this. The comeback against Tennessee at Tennessee was pretty darn impressive. That team found themselves tht game. Very similar to our comeback against Louisville during our Sugar bowl season.

They are good and will put some points on us. The fact they are at home, have a smart qb and can put pts up in hurry is scary.

I think it is going to be a close, high scoring game.

Got shoved around pretty good last year on both sides of the ball. There must be some belief that we have improved immensely in this area, and we very well may have. Last years score of 45 - 33 ( at home ) in my opinion was not indicative of how difficult both the offensive and defensive lines struggled to compete. For that reason alone I was a little surprised. Hope you are correct Vernon. As has been said, there are at least 2 sides to every hendecagon, ( 11 sided shape ).

I never said anything about how I thought the game would go, I was only saying I don't see being picked to lose by more than a TD as a sign of respect...and yes I know that's not necessarily how the lines are set.

The comeback against Tennessee at Tennessee was pretty darn impressive.

The Vols gave that game away just like they did against Florida on Saturday. Tennessee is greatly improved over the last couple of seasons, but the one thing they haven't accomplished is they have not "learned" how to win yet. I'd credit that as the biggest factor in letting both OU and UF come back to win in those games.

I wish I had a handle on how good we really are. The team I saw Saturday was freaking BCS-caliber, but judging from the spread, Vegas believes otherwise.

Not sure who is right.

Oklahoma's rout of the Fightin' Terry Bowdens was a good win, too. Giving up 38 points to Tulsa? Not so much.

If West Virginia's defense can hold the Sooners to five or fewer touchdowns, I kind of like the Mountaineers' chances.

Tennessee is not very good. Product of SEC overrated bias.

If you asked who has been more impressive so far OU or WVU the answer would be WVU.

The spread was posted as 7 here in Philadelphia today. I have also seen this in the past where the spreads are different where a higher concentration of fans of the actual teams live. The books are trying to keep the action even on both sides.

Wasn't Gibson still tight in his defensive play calling when we played OU last year? Then he opened them up in mid-season. This should be a good game, but OU started pounding the ball in the 2nd half and just wore us down.
