TBH 6AAs in our development year is not bad. But DT has such high expectations, I refuse to believe we settle for 5th. I expect 133, 141 and HWT to do better than his predictions here.
A few months ago, that's about what my expectations were. The closer we get to the season though, the more delusional I become. At this point I can't imagine a single one of those guys off the podium

Is that you Micco? ;)
I am an exceptional eye. When I grace the board with these predictions, take note.

25- already been to the finals, next will be a title and then a challenge to the weakest bracket champ (49) for two titles.
33- already won one, will get another notch for a different weight.
41- once healthy, this 57 pounder will muscle force his way to a title.
49- his to lose unless he gets bored dominating.
57- Robydoo is just hiding and waiting. Teague will double enter and we have two in the finals.
65- most talented young guy in the field. Gets the 3 seed and surprises two vets in his final two matches.
74- only way he gets beat is in his sleep with a bat.
84- he might talk them to fatigue, but he still has tanks the field.
97- I guess he’s big, so he will cut loose so he can eat.
Hwy- Muscles and vindication.

Set my alarm for the All-Star classic and it’s just been guys talking for 45 minutes. I guess the wrestling starts at 6 PM central? Anyways, looking forward to the first college wrestling of the season!

Yes 6CT . 5CT was FRL. 4 girls matches and 1 D2/D3 match before the D1 card

Trying to write this without seeming self-congratulatory but there are some themes I’m seeing that are seemingly playing out as predictive that we see as fans but have not been noted as much from the national guys.

Last year, listening to Dean and Wyatt talk about buy-in, mindset and then noting their aggressive, “exert my will on you style”, many of us were not surprised at all when they were finalists (I say that bc Wyatt did still surprise me as champ). You could tell in the early portion of the season that they were different. You notice the same “Difference” in Zahid. To me, there is the same foreshadowing this year with Swiderski, Robideau and Ryder though I think Ski is the finalist of that bunch. You see similar characteristics in Jax and Zinckin. I’ll probably feel the same way about the Raney’s when I see them wrestle more. Ramirez, Vega and Dee all come from a similar approach but have been activated further by Robideau’s intensity.

Mostly bringing this up bc it surprised many of the national guys last year when Dean and Wyatt won. Similarly last night our guys were universal underdogs but for us crazies that followed the preseason closely, it was very much expected that our guys did what they did. I think it goes beyond being confident in our guys and noticing there is a style and approach that simply matches DT’s philosophy very well and predicts better than expected outcomes.

I hope BT gets some run at 184 this season. Whether that’s to give Ryder a weekend off from cutting weight or whatever. He stuck around when he probably could’ve easily hit the portal and gone somewhere guaranteed to start. Hell, maybe give him a match or two at 197 if you’re feeling crazy. Let him show what he can do on full feed, so if he opts to portal next season he’ll have teams calling.

Imagine he will get some matches but if he's not putting up points it won't last long. 14 points isn't something I have seen from him. And DT wants offense

His style could translate better to heavier weights. Slow, methodical and reactive. Plus, we all know he doesn’t like to cut.

I definitely remember him pounding that drum. Being an IL guy I definitely agreed with him . And I remember we both got sh*t for it
It was the delivery.

Prior to the season, you also couldn’t say he was going to score more than Plott or Wyatt.

That’s all I was saying! He was one I was super excited to see if how much the staff could improve him.

Honestly, I thought it was more likely that Plott beat Keck than DJ beating Haines and O’Toole at the beginning of the season.

As the season progressed, it was very clear DJ was at his proper weight and had jumped levels.
In order to keep jumping levels you have to have a certain level of athleticism. And Hamiti is being picked ahead of Plott in every sport if they played dodgeball, basketball or anything athletic. And he had DT teaching him who had a similar style and body type . So Hamiti jumping levels was a guarantee. But I understand not everyone knows ball like Malos and I 😂😂
