I feel like we need more in 27 given we only got 3 in 26 (Mocco, Duffy, Calkins). I imagine CJ Torres will join this class too as he is greyshirting this year. And maybe the heavier Miller twin who is doing JuCo right now.

Yes, we know you've defended this season and the last 4+ ad nauseam. It's why you're getting called out so often. People who continue to defend something so obvious deserve every bit of ridicule they receive.
No one is asking you to be nice, we're asking you to open your eyes and admit what we're all seeing isn't acceptable for an Iowa Hawkeyes wrestling program.

I would rethink things a bit if it was 2 finalists, and 6 AAs. That would be a change with having better success in March compared to the regular season. I know you've mentioned about waiting till March, but what do you consider as a success in the postseason? I mean, you have to factor the regular season in to a certain extent. If they were kinda coasting in the regular season, to build for run in the postseason your expectations should be a bit higher. If a dismal season is combined with a mediocre postseason, I dont think thats good enough. I don't know if that makes sense or not.

absolutely need more. the 27 and 28 classes are BAU for PSU and now OSU.

The 2010 and 2022 classes will be the downfall of Brands imo.

You are not wrong that at one time it was a reasonable expectation to have 6 top 5 wrestlers. In mid-December, when Iowa peaked in the rankings, Flo had Iowa, anOSU, and PSU in a dead heat. Then the most likely outcome was for Iowa to have 5 top 5 wrestlers (~30%), and 6 top 5 was not out of the question (~22%).

Now 6 top 5 is less than 1% likely.

You can look at 1% and say it's not over yet. They can look at 22% becoming 1% and say it is. There is something for everyone.

That is beyond ridiculous and you know it. I literally listed 2 Finalists and 6 AA’s as the threshold. If they come CLOSE I said I wouldn’t list it as an abject failure. But, no AA’s? CTFO.

All I have done THIS year is what every Anti-Brandser on here has done every year they complain. Ignore the regular season and ONLY care about the post season. I have said it over and over again. If they fall hard in a few weeks, this place can burn to the ground and I won’t try to stop it.

So, don’t even begin to twist anything I have said. I am the ONLY one her qualifying my stance with an exact outcome…

In Tom’s interview to start the season, he said he and all the head coaches at the University stay in almost constant communication with the athletic administration. If this is true, Fran had to know he was probably toast after the season. Probably why he had another D1 job lined up immediately. Tom should have a good idea by now if he’s back next year. After 20 years, they aren’t going to have it hinge on how these up and down guys perform at the national tournament. If they finish strong it will make the end of season meeting with the AD more pleasant. I think he’s easily back next year, but how many more years will hinge on how well he adds to the middle and upper weights in the 28 class, and avoiding any Bo like disaster with 27 guy decommitting.

Thank you. Like I have said, even though we may go at it hard, you are, for the most part, level headed. I get that I "rile up" many that go back and forth with me, so much of it is my fault, but they only see RED when I am involved and most rational thought goes out the window!

I really don't get it. Guys like you and Grip are obvious real fans who happen to support the program through thick and thin and are actually very respectful of outside opinions. I feel the same way about El dub so that is an odd battle to me. I poke the bear and don't mind a few stones cast my way. I haven't found very many people on these boards that I think I wouldn't like in real life so to speak. Most of my best buddies in wrestling are true Hawkeye fans with a sprinkling of ISU fans mixed in. I guess I tend to like wrestling people in general. We are all insane when you get right down to it.
