This year is what it is an young inexperienced team that hasn’t been able to finish games. Next year is the make or break year for Satterfield on multiple levels.

He has a decision to make at QB. His time at Louisville will be directly tied to this position. Malik has to either improve in the passing game or he has to move on. At this point he is not doing enough to win games in the passing game. Ideally Malik stays and gets better but man I have my doubts. Tough decision.

Start making tough calls on the roster. Has to find/keep key bodies from/in the portal. The defense isn’t too far off. The offense has the pieces.

Record wise needs to find a way to get to 8 games.

Recruiting 2023 has to be really good. He has to win some recruiting battles. Recruiting is the future it generates excitement. A really good class could save him even if they only get 7 wins.

This will be the year he either establishing himself or is gone. I don’t see any middle ground in year 4.

Hate to say it, but I agree. His wanting to leave last year was bad enough.

Too many bad play calls. IMO, the team just doesn't look well coached for many reasons on both sides of the ball.

I loved the hire when he first got here but I just can't trust him and imo he has not shown that he gas/can grow into this level of football. I don't think he'll get fired for at least three more years simply because of the administration. I do think he'll leave after next year though. No reason than my own gut feeling.

Year 4 was always my timeline. Building a roster takes time. Next year the roster is good enough with enough experience to expect a 8-9 win year. They can add a few good pieces from the portal. I think that is fair.

I try not to get into individual play calling. He can be better however no coach is immune to bad calls. The question is did his game plan put his team in position to win. They have done that. The problem is they aren’t making winning plays. Missed FG, dropped passes/interceptions, missed assignments, passes and/or tackles. That is all directly related to players making plays. Next year IMO they need to make those plays if not he will be gone.

He has some tough calls to make in the off-season.

It isn’t like they are losing big to bad teams.

I think he's lost a lot of the fans for now. If he can rally and get to a Bowl game this year they'll show up for the opener next year. After that? He's going to have to show that his program is a winner next year. I don't think 6 wins next year is enough to re-gain/keep fan support.

Either Malik is trying to do too much on his own or CSS is a petting him to do too much. I was really hoping on the 4th down play they were going to hand off to the running back. Unfortunately everybody including me knew they were going to have Malik run it. I really like our freshmen class and next year should be a good year. I hope the players and the coaches grow enough to make it a good year.

He isn’t great in the pocket or when pressure comes. I am not sure that is fixable. I think of all the Satterfield criticism the QB development/recruiting is warranted. Malik shouldn’t be struggling this much in the passing game in year 3.

All good points, and yes CSS’s future here is still in question. There is a lot of young talent on the roster, and most everyone is eligible to return for 2022. We need to close out strong this season starting Saturday!

We better pray Malik is back next season. If he's back, it will be a darn good season. The rest of the roster should be solid and balanced, but a step back at QB could hinder the season.

In 2019, we had a more experienced roster. We were in close games and we won the games. We made winning plays against BC, UVA, Wake, NC State, FSU, and Cuse and finished them off.

We're younger in 2021, we aren't making the winning plays.

Get older, deeper, etc. it will look better.
