Ballpark? Full class 25? I love how Riley has rebuilt the depleted LB group. I think the O-line and secondary are gonna be top tier in the Big 10. I hope we go heavy on DT'S and speed rushing DE's in next class. Need a couple TE's and a couple big bodied WR's. Key Jr? Couple RB's depending on what Taylor and Wilbon do. A QB, If somene wants to break it down better than me, have at it. Thoughts? GBR

it'd be nice to get to the point where you recruit 22/24/yr...one for each position...sometimes skip a position if another isn't panning out and needs reinforced.

From the distribution chart, 25 sounds right.

We need a QB, a RB, 2-3 WRs - one big bodied, a TE or 2, at least 1 OT, if not 2, and a Guard (I think every class should have at least 3 OL). That's 9-11 players.

For defense, 2-3 DE, one has to be an end rusher - would love 2 end rushers, 2 DT, a LB, and 2 CB, and a safety. That's another 9-11 players.

Right now NU is sitting at 87/85 scholarships. Take Hovey off and they are one over. They have 21 seniors next season. I assume they could take around 25 or so with some attrition. The next year may suck though as there is only 13 juniors.

Just looking at how successful some of the other conference members were in recruiting OL, it leads me to believe that in order to have success in the B1G, we definitely need to upgrade our DL. I hope the staff lands 3 DTs and at least 3 DEs next year. I know 6 is a lot of scholarships for DL, but I don't think Nebraska can compete with the big boys without being really strong on the lines.

Lol. I think we did pretty well recruiting OL this cycle!

oh we did fine. The trend I have noticed is that when we recruit Tackles they tend to slide inside. We need to get true Tackles, keep them there, and get proper numbers if we are moving to a more pass oriented attack.

I'm also not sure that I was a big fan of the undersized Centers we used to get. We seem to be upsizing there a bit as needed against the bigger Dlines we are facing.

22 seniors on scholarship and there will be more than that that we take, but let's just work with that number for now...

2 QBs
1 RB
3 WRs
2 TEs (JUCO possibility)
4 OL
1 DE
2 DTs
3 LBs
4 DBs

That's 22... obviously if we lose some guys in key positions things could shift, but that's where I would put our numbers for right now. Credit SSO
