On a scale of 1-10, how excited are you for it tonight?

I'm at a 10. Starving for something interesting in the sportsworld. Been watching the same crap on the NFL for 2 weeks straight. Going to miss fans booing Goddell though and the Jets picking the wrong player and the fans screaming "WTF"

I don't usually watch it, but like you I'll take some sort of live sporting event. I hope it's not full of tech glitches. They're going to have a boatload of people watching tonight is my guess.

I don't usually watch it but I will watch some of it tonight...I'm a big Brooklyn 99 fan so at 8:30 I'll be watching that.

I'll watch long enough to see my Cowboys draft a drug addict with an amputated foot in the First Round, with the unrealistic hope that the player will become an All-Pro, and they'll be proclaimed football gurus.

I'm at a 5......my son in-law always host a draft party......but obviously that is out.
He has set up a conference call so those interested can call in and chat, make picks and enjoy some camaraderie and taunting... likely some taunting.. heh..

I won't be calling in.....but I always went to his draft gatherings.....great food and drink....plus they live lose by. He is a rock solid diehard Cowboy fan......who was born and raised in Lewisburg PA and hates the Steelers and Eagles......never figured that one out.

I may watch the first 20 or so minutes tonight, just to see if my team can convince the Redskins (at #2) to trade picks. Otherwise, my team is sitting with the #16 pick, and that probably wouldn't take place until 10:30 or so. Fvckers seem to always take their full 10 minutes to make the pick. I understand they're waiting for Jerry Jones to maybe give up 12 players for their pick, but damn, really pisses me off having to wait that long.

You think you can hide out in this thread? Hey country...how many White NFL players turned Black before being drafted?

Run along now......

Big bad man aren’t you?

I thought that was funny. So did country, who's well practiced in switching races. [laughing]

Hey boom, ask country if there has ever been a time when country "switched" from White to Black? Country will either lie or run off after you ask. But don't get mad at country, you do the same thing.

I'm not reading anyone else on this forum with the ability to chase Leftists away as I do? @NYC_Eer , @Soaring Eagle 74 , @Keyser76 , @countryroads89 and YOU have all recently high tailed it away from posts where I've challenged you to answer something that either proved your lies or reluctance to own up to them.

@NYC_Eer hasn't even come back since I exposed his blatant lie that Black folks who vote Republican are the "dumbest of the bunch". That coward has been gone for a few days now when he was asked to back that lie up.

Back to football talk from the message board polluters.

I don't know about Chase Young. I understand he was great at OSU but after watching 4 years of Vic Beasley, he is a dead ringer. Too small to be a beast in the NFL for the second overall pick. I hope I am wrong because I like the guy, even if he is a Buckeye.

Does foul language to other posters count as board "pollution"?

I don't think I care. I thought about betting it, but I'm not quite that desperate.

Any thread that has country in it is automatically polluted because he is not suppose to be here.

He'll have a better NFL career than Beasley, but may not prove to be as good as the Bosa brothers. Larry Johnson, Sr. is a helluva D-Line coach, and has built a DE factory in Columbus. Jeff Okudah, who will likely be selected No. 3 by the Lions, is a lock-down corner, and may turn out to be a better pro than Young.

Yes, it is all virtual. I think it would be hilarious if they pumped boos in but I can't foresee the NFL having a sense of humor.

I wouldn't mind seeing them get Chase Young, as he's a bad MF'er, but not at the expense it would likely take to move up to the 2nd pick. I'm hoping they can get the D-Lineman from Auburn or the CB out of Florida. They need help at all three positions though, but I don't want to see them give up a lot of opening round picks just to get Young.

I agree with you fully on everything but the Beasley comment. I hope he is better. The Bosa's.......beasts! And I'm a believer in Okudah as well. But i think the Lions will trade that pick. They've been trying.

Here is my thing on pass rushers in today's NFL. I actually started thinking about this after watching JJ Watt on Peyton's Places which is an outstanding series of NFL stuff if you haven't watched.

The Bull rush is the start of everything for a good edge rusher. You got to get the tackle to respect your strength of getting run over. Watt, Kalil Mack, Von Miller, the Bosa's and so many more have the good bull rush. From there, you can get the tackle leaning and then swim or make other moves which Chase Young and Vic Beasley has. But if you are not big and strong enough to get the tackle to respect you, the OL's in the NFL right now can shut you down more often than not.

I'm not sold on Chase Young........I didn't see all his games....but the big ones I saw......he was MIA......Did nothing against Clemson except cost his team dearly with a cheap shot late hit.

And what did Clemson have? NFL ready tackles and great offensive coaching and a QB that knows how to play the game. Clemson isn't Rutgers or Maryland in football these days.

Good hand technique is underrated. You have to be able to use your hands to keep the mammoth NFL tackles from locking you up. When you're locked up, you're done.

Michigan was doing whatever they had to do to take him out of the game, whether double teaming him, or running away from him, or keeping a back on his side to assist in blocking him when passing. That's a win for Ohio State when you have to use two of your guys to keep him from murdering you.

Many people said the same thing about Joey Bosa. The flaw in this theory is that Ohio State's schedule is back-loaded. After D-Coordinators have seen plenty of tape depicting Ohio State's left DE (Young does play on both sides, though) destroying right tackles, they make adjustments, including double teams and chips, which you will see a lot more of later in the season. Joey Bosa was more impactful as a Sophomore than a Junior because his Sophomore tape was spectacular, and opposing D-Coordinators game-planned for him even to start his Junior season.

Good point, however the real advantage is leverage and speed. If a DE can get around slower stronger linemen....it's over. Leverage is about getting an advantage on the angle of attack, or lower pad level to use an O lineman's strength against him. Speed kills.
