I don't have a #1 favorite NFL team, but if I had to choose just 1, it would probably be the Steelers or maybe the Broncos.

Wilkie, most media outlets are not televising the National Anthem from what I've been reading.

Just to clarify my stance. My family in the last three generations has over 200 years of military service. We all have friends that gave thier lives for freedom. This is not about race or the right to protest. It is about how they have chosen to protest. I am offended by them showing disrespect to the fallen, who have died to preserve thier freedom of speech.

I watch NFL but dont really have a die hard favorite team. This season I will follow Ravens and Jets for obvious reasons but I like the Raiders too.

I will cheer for the Ravens when Lamar is starting QB. I will cheer for the Saints if Teddy becomes starting QB. Otherwise I could care less. Several years of cheering for the Bengals cured me of being much of a NFL fan. I’m a college football fan.

Packers since the 60's and will be forever. Long live 'the Golden Boy's" team.....Paul got me hooked and I can not stop.....they are my only NFL team that earned my loyalty.

Full admission....I watch very, very little NFL FB and have not for years.

i think it's funny how people think the players are disrespecitng the fallen but has any of the fallen ever thought about all the innocents american soldiers have killed or raped durign wars? what about the abuses in irag, are we honoring the soldiers who committed those atrocities? how many kids have been born worldwide because of american invading soldiers? when we invade foreign countries we are not protecting our freedom in the US we are asserting a bully mentality to protect the business interests of a few rich american companies. technically only japan and saudi arabia has ever invaded us so wars in irag, afghnaistan, and europe we nothing about our freedoms but more about business. our freedoms are protected by our constitution, our laws, our police for and out national guard. the players are protesting injustices and not disrepsting anyone. simple as that. those who find the disrespect should look deeper as to whether the color of the protesters skin has anything to do with it

Well this thread just took a hard left turn. It won't end well for civil discussion or the thread IMO. That's too bad. It was decent conversation while it lasted.

Fake news. Tebow didn't kneel to protest during the national anthem. He did it to pray which he got skull drug thru the mud for.
You're fake news. How do you know Kaepernik wasn't praying and he sure as hell got drug through the mud. Go Nike!!

"On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress passed a resolution authorizing a committee to devise a seal for the United States of America. This mission, designed to reflect the Founding Fathers' beliefs, values, and sovereignty of the new Nation, did not become a reality until June 20, 1782. In heraldic devices, such as seals, each element has a specific meaning. Even colors have specific meanings. The colors red, white, and blue did not have meanings for The Stars and Stripes when it was adopted in 1777. However, the colors in the Great Seal did have specific meanings. Charles Thompson, Secretary of the Continental Congress, reporting to Congress on the Seal, stated:

"The colors of the pales (the vertical stripes) are those used in the flag of the United States of America; White signifies purity and innocence, Red, hardiness & valour, and Blue, the color of the Chief (the broad band above the stripes) signifies vigilance, perseverance & justice."

We all know 13 stripes for 13 original colonies and 50 stars for the current number of states...what the colors mean can be interpreted based on the color meaning of our seal.

I'll say, with tongue in cheek...PATRIOTS!!!

I served in the Army in peace time. My father fought in the Navy in Korea. My great grandfather in the Marines in WWI. Hell I have relatives who fought on both sides in the Civil War. We all do.

As far as hard right turn or hard left turn we all have the right to express our beliefs regardless of which side of the political spectrum we fall. I served in the military to protect that right. I don’t see that someone expressing a political belief is disrespecting me or my family. John McCain is a hero of mine. He was a conservative. Bob Kerrey, a former US Senator who won the Congressional Medal of Honor and lost a leg in Vietnam, is also a hero of mine. He is a liberal.

What I’m sick of is people on both sides of the spectrum who demonize others because they disagree with them in expressing themselves.

I totally agree. I served in the Navy in Desert Storm, Father in Viet Nam earning a purple heart, Grand Father in WWII, GG Grand Fathers and Uncles on both sides of civil war, GGG Grand Father served as a Kentucky Rifleman in the battle of New Orleans, GGGG Grand Fathers in the Revolutionary War. GGGGGG Grand Father came over on a ship from Ireland in 1680 and worked as an indentured servant for seven years on a tobacco farm outside of Baltimore Maryland to then move and set up in western Kentucky and grow his own crops. I can tell you not one of these men fought for a flag. Every one of them fought for freedom, freedom from oppressors, freedom from tyranny, and for free speech. Unfortunately the flag is being used by politicians to divide this country. During my tour of duty I witnessed servicemen and women that were united in the service to the country and to the constitution including every single amendment (especially the first one). The division needs to stop. This president doesn't know what the term "United" States of America even means.

You agree yet continue to use derogatory comments to describe the President of the United States and even called him a fake President which is absurd. That's a wee bit ironic IMO.

I agree Trump is divisive in nature but that doesn't mean he's done a bad job. Obama was divisive too, and did a bad job IMO. The economy is doing well. The stock market has never been higher. The tax break put more money in everyone's paycheck (who works), and he continues to do exactly what he said he would do when he was running for office. Next up is better immigration laws and a wall where it's needed to better protect our borders. Some areas don't need a wall because there are natural borders. We all can disagree without being divisive. Trump could too, but he hasn't figured out how yet. He may never figure it out. Who knows? You want the division to stop? Good. Me too. Best way to do that is to vote. It's the only real voice any of us have.

Obama did a great job.
The economic recovery we enjoyed today , started with him fixing the 800k jobs lost under Bush.

The record stock markets, low unemployment, and job recoveries didnt start under Trump.

The tax break expires for regular workers, yet remains permanent for Corporations and businesses. It also drove up the debt which the right beat Obama up on. Now not a word about it.

Trump is and was unfit for office period.
Not by words of Democrats, rather words by Republicans themselves who now follow Trump.

Mike pence said if you lie to the American people you should resign.

Hannity said Obama didnt have enough experience to hold the office.

Neither have said this about Trump.

So you guys can continue to be intellectually dishonest by applying different standards because the President is an R instead of a D.

You cant even criticize him for insulting ALL POWs and using deferments to avoid service.

Rather, you'll criticize an American peacefully exercising his God given rights of freedom.

Hypocrites thou art.

Now the thread has been hijacked. But it’s ok because the OP helped do it.

Anybody who thinks “Corps and businesses” pay taxes, high or low, is either naive or just hopelessly ignorant.

They just pass it to you in higher prices. They “pay” zero.

Just like the tariffs. Corps have already said it will make “cost” go up. But higher taxes won’t?

Yet some still think raising taxes on business is a good idea.

Beam me up.
