Am I the only one that thinks making this a spot foul can be too extreme?
yes. If you have a chance to catch it and the defense knows that they will only be penalized less yards for interference they will take you out.Am I the only one that thinks making this a spot foul can be too extreme?
Along that line of though, what about breaking the plane all over the field? If the plane at the end of each end of the field is a touch down once the ball crosses over, why not it be out of bounds if ball caught over out of bounds even though feet are still in. A lot of things bug me when it comes to the rules. Hands to the face and face mask penalties. When the offensive player is running and puts his hand up for a stiff arm but puts his hands in the face of the defender they sometimes grab the face mask but, you don't see a penalty. They need to clarify the rule. Used to be they's call PI if the defender initiated contact with the receiver when the ball was in the air. I heard commentators whining about a PI call at the end of the game in the endzone. They were going on about how that call should not be called at that time in the game. That's crazy and what makes fans so frustrated with officials. If a foul is a foul 2 seconds into the game, it's a foul if there are 2 seconds left in the game. Don't use judgment, just call it by the book!
