NFL season in jeopardy?

Even after quarantining starting this past Tuesday after the first positives, the Titans have had players and coaches with verified positives every single day since then, including 3 additional members of the organization test positive today. They've already postponed the Titans/Steelers game this week, but next weeks Titans/Bills game looks to be in serious jeopardy.

And now Cam Newton has tested positive this morning. I imagine this weekend's KC/Patriots matchup is off and the Patriots will close down facilities and quarantine as well. You would have to assume this is not the last of it for sure.

The NFL did not build in any additional bye weeks or time into their schedule to allow for make up games (Roger Goodell is a complete pawn and moron). I think the only option at this point is that not every team is going to play a full 16 games and some games are just going to be outright cancelled, or to reduce the regular season to 12 or 14 games to allow for postponements and schedule flexibility.

I doubt this is the end, but I have a slight level of concern that we may finally have finally hit the second wave that I thought we could avoid. Same thing happened in 1918 after it entered the White House.

As for the NFL, I think they’ll be fine. The MLB did an incredible poor job and still finished the season. The NFL did a bad job of scheduling however, and now my Steelers have no true bye week, even without a single positive. Cam Newton has basically always been a bit of a clown.

Yea probably.

Don’t understand why they’re canceling or postponing games. Just play the guys that test negative and quarantine the ones that are positive. They’re testing on game day. As long as there’s enough to play, just play.

The problem is that during the incubation period of the virus you can be infected and test negative for several days in a row before it shows up as positive on a test. So you can’t guarantee you have 0 infections on the Patriots now beyond Cam.

Look at the Titans: they had 3 players test positive Tuesday, quarantined, and have been testing every player and personnel every day since then. They have been getting more positives every day. A player who tested positive today was testing negative Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday before the test they took on Friday came back positive. You’ve got guys who were infected last weekend or this past Monday who are not testing positive until 4-5 days later.

The Pats/Chiefs game has been moved to Monday or Tuesday, and if they get anymore positives tomorrow they will probably cancel/postpone.

if they don't stop testing players who are healthy this will go on in perpetuity which is the point

Good, shut it down! Keep all of those crybaby SJWs off the field. Maybe if they start taking a hit to their paycheck, they'll get back to their profession instead of playing politics.
Quit being a damn crybaby for players expressing their constitutional rights. You know just like im sure you love the 2nd amendment. I’m sure you’re in a bad mood because Trump is sick.

Trump getting the sniffles does not affect anything regarding my mood.

Why would it hurt my feelings? I’m enjoying football season. I’m not sitting around crying about someone using their freedom during a song about celebrating freedom.

Well when you have an easily transmittable virus that shows zero symptoms in a huge chunk of healthy people under 50 and you test every person involved with the NFL, symptoms or not, you're going to find some positive tests.

Edit: looks like the Saints just had a false positive last night.

I'll still be surprised if Pats/Chiefs play Monday or Tuesday, but who knows.

which is why it makes zero sense to test people who are healthy. It's a solution in search of a problem

It only makes zero sense if you are an idiot that still hasn’t figured o if that it can be transmitted by people with no symptoms. But you’re on your 20th alias since March since you keep getting banned for trying to sell crazy.

Who had the symptoms that gave it to Trump? You have been a complete failure on this site since March. Luckily for you, most of your insanity has been deleted. What were you on late the other night when you called Trump a “Jesus figure”? Take your stupidity to Craigslist or yahoo chat boards.

you'll be in a boxcar to a concentration camp before you wake up to what the government is doing to you. But don't worry it's for your own safety. Probably after 9/11 you were cheering on the same abuses of power in the airport. Now it's every aspect of your life

Who was sick that gave it to Trump? You can’t answer it as nobody can. You’re too easy to spot, Airraid Freshman. You’d think after being banned twenty times over a six month period, you’d take a long look at yourself. You got issues, deep ones. Spare us the meltdown.

Yeah buddy. He had a cold and his blood Oxygen went way down. You're an utter disgrace constantly coming back on here to peddle your insanity. I ask again, what were you on when you said he was a Jesus figure? You are severely paranoid and need to deal with it.

Good thing for you that all your Air Raid Freshman posts were deleted when you were banned 15 times in a 3 month period or I'd revisit some of the one's saying the entire virus was a hoax and we were all sheep. Have a great night, S for brains.

I live rent free in your head you're probably some high school kid with a chip on his shoulder. It's worse than a sheep. When I said covid is a hoax I mean the reaction to it. You lie about me just like the media does about the president because you can't handle that you've been played for a fool and I was right

Stephon Gilmore with the Pats just tested positive today. He was on the "COVID plane" the Pats flew out to Kansas City with of the 20 or so players that had close contact to Cam. They had a practice squad player they added to their COVID list yesterday. Hoping they're not having an outbreak like the Titans.

Speaking of the Titans, they had two new players test positive today and their facility will not open as was planned for today. I doubt they play the Bills this weekend and who knows how that's resolved from a scheduling standpoint if so since the NFL apparently didn't plan for any of this.

The Raiders also had a player test positive today.
