With today's technology there is no reason why we can't have this full-time. Cost shouldn't be an issue with the NFL and College basically printing $$.

Hopefully they will record PSI so we don't have to hear about deflate-gate anymore. My frickin car tires do it.

Are they also going to put something in the field at the end zone that automatically reacts when the ball breaks the plane? Maybe the goal posts could light up automatically when the ball breaks the plane.

Part of me says that Goodell is going overboard focusing on the kicking aspect of the game, however another part of me agrees that if we have the tech available to get it right then we should use it.

What I don't like is the obtrusive nature of some of these things like instant replay and how much over analysis we deal with. At some point we're here to simply play a game. This chip thing seems to be an instant deal and accurate, which is a win win IMO.

I could see this being a blessing at first and then the ball being used to measure how hard the carrier is hit. "Avery Williamson fined $10000 for exerting over X Newtons of force on Brandon Ingram...."

Maybe I'm just paranoid.

"Troy Polomalu fined for being in too close of proximity to the ball carrier and disturbing his personal bubble."

Still have to determine if the knee was down before it crossed the goal. Not really much of a help.
