Entertaining for fans of offense, but both teams must be left wondering about their defense, or lack thereof.

While watching Can Newton on ESPN right now, this line from “True Grit” came to mind: “We have no rodeo clowns in Yell County.”

Interesting how Cam now gets to second guess what others do or don’t do.
All he is remembered for in these parts is his after game pimp daddy outfits and this one gutless play with the Super Bowl on the line.

McCarthy maybe good at some point, but I don’t understand why everyone was so high on him. He looks like he is in over his head right now at the start of this game.

Fair. But the kid ran a very run heavy offense at Michigan and people drooled all over him like he was slinging it all over the field. Like I said, maybe he becomes very good, but I’m not seeing it.
QBs are largely D drafted based on potential. JJ is one of those guys that looks great in shorts and he won. There's no guarantee he'll be good or great but that's true of every QB drafted.

I'm not convinced any of those QBs other than Daniels is going to be very good or better. Situation matters. JJ having Jefferson and Hock should help. They don't have much of a run game though which is a problem.

Dull game. Vikings have had five drives, four three-and-outs. They’ve done nothing.

Will Richard with a 59-yard field goal for Minnesota, a hell of a kick.

Most qbs if not all look in over their head the first 30 minutes of their career. It’s toughest position in sports

McCarthy has now thrown for more yards … for the Bears (74 yards) … than he has for his own team (48 yards).

Vikings might pull this one out--Chicago should have been up way more than 2 scores

JJ looks better now--still not great but he's no longer a deer in headlights
We'll see how good Caleb is now

Vikings scores again, and convert a 2 pointer.

20-17, Vikings, with 9:46 left in the 4th qtr.

A pretty weak PI call against Da Bears on the Vikings' drive

Da Bears just falling apart, on both sides of the ball, in the 4th qtr.

JJ with a keeper for the TD, with 2:53 left in the game.

27-17, Vikings

Da Bears get a stop on D, and force a punt. They take over at their own 20 with 0:09 sec left. They have no TOs left. And they mess up the 1st play, get penalized for an illegal shift. So they are on their 15, with 0:05 left. And after a lateral or two, the Vikings tackle them well short of mid-field, and it's a final, 27-24, Vikings. Now the announcers are gushing about McCarthy. I think it's more that Da Bears O and D started screwing up, but it is was it is.

After what I saw from Caleb in college, in terms of his behavior, I’m not sold he’ll ever be the leader of a successful team. Great talent, so there’s hope … but I’m just not sold he’s “the guy.”
