My Capitals beat Willy's Lightning last year and are off to a 3-0 lead in the first period in the first game this year. #2INAROWAFTER45YEARS

The Lightning just did what my Capitals used to do. Be great in the regular season and then flame out in the playoffs. (Although the Lightning did it in very unspectacular fashion)

Unbelievable atmosphere in Columbus tonight. Considering it's been 20 years in the making.

Almost makes up for the few hundred games of ****** hockey games I've gone to in my life.

I was alive longer than it took for the Capitals to win last year. Have fun but my Capitals be repeating.

What an incredible night it was. For the first time since 1995, an Ohio team not from Cleveland and that is recognized as one of the official four professional sports in the USA has finally won a playoff series. Go Blue Jackets!

As usual, playoff hockey has delivered in terms of great games and drama. With the Lightning out and the Caps in a dog fight against the Canes, there is no clear cut favorite to win the Cup this year.

I was playing cards while the game was on so I didn't really get to see it. Trust me, it's not over. Save last year, I've seen the Caps do a lot of stupid stuff in the playoffs.

Lol, glen. Before last year, the caps couldn't get out of the 1st round for almost 60 years. Win 1 time and you think they are the NY Yankees of hockey. Smh

This Sharks-Golden Knights game is an all-timer.

VGK was up 3-0. Took a major penalty. San Jose scored 4 in the 5 minutes.

4-3 Sharks now with about 5:00 left

we shall see Glenn. i predict an early power play for caps, (you know, when a cane looks at AO) the flying oevchkin scores, cuz seems he can only score on PP's.

play the game straight up, 5 on 5, and the canes win 3-2.

just call it clean, and the pucks fall where they may...

Probably the worst blown call in a playoff game since the no call on Gretzky in the 93 semis. That play happens multiple times per game and is never called. At worst it should have been a standard 2 mins for cross checking. Major was not warranted there.

All Canadian teams eliminated before the Elite Eight. Canada now officially the Indiana of hockey, with no Stanley Cups for the entire country since 1993.

It’s pretty frustrating, especially considering how often Canadian teams won cups in the 70s and 80s. Montreal and Edmonton were monsters.

The only thing Canadian fans have had to cling to is the hockey gold medals in the Olympics which are a huge deal up there. Other than that it’s been rough.

Carolina tilted the entire rink in both OT's. It felt like the counter gut punch from Ovi was coming but they actually pulled through. Justin Williams with a major rabbit's foot up his *** in game 7's.

Williams now has 15 points in 7 career game sevens. Dude is money.

5 of 8 underdogs (by seed) won their series in the first round. 6 if you count the Islanders who were Vegas dogs.

The NHL playoffs are the best thing in sports.

Almost felt like the Canes were on a powerplay for 30 minutes.

Even the one PP for Caps in OT didn’t generate much at all.

Welp, back to the same crap for my boys. It was not Braden Holtby's best night in regulation. The short handed goal and Staal's goal were both really weak.

caps were gassed, playing hero-hockey in desperation mode. i am surprised that the announcers could talk with the flying ovechklin's junk in their mouth.

i think it was into the second period before they said hurricanes.

i LOVE that this "bunch of jerks" are sticking it to bums

Does anyone else find it ironic that instant replay was the cause of the bad call in the Vegas game the other night? The NHL just admitted that it shouldn't have been a major. When the play happened live, neither ref called a penalty. It's only because the guy hit his head on the ice and stayed there that they stopped play. That's when they went to replay and called the penalty. Had the guy not hit his head and kept playing they would have never looked at it.
