Anyone ever been to one? I am a big Capitals fan and they are playing the Hurricanes in Raleigh at NC State's stadium that holds 58,000. The cheapest ticket for it is $335 before service charges. That's crazy.

Like Tennis, hockey is a sport I like to watch but have zero idea about the rules.

Raleigh seems like it’d be too far south for a good stadium game.

I’d pay that to see a Winter Classic game. That’d be an experience you’d always remember.

Part of the problem is that I don't really know any other hockey fans. Much less someone to pay $400 for a ticket with me.

Frigid take, Glenn.

Seriously, if the right teams played, I'd even attend such a game. What an incredible experience.

I would love to go. Live only 2 miles from the NC St stadium. But I ain’t paying that! Plus will be at Mardi Gras with girlfriend that day.

Go Canes!
Woo woo woo!!!!
I just know that the ice was frequently in poor condition during the early and later parts of our seasons when I was growing up in Cincinnati. It was simply too warm to produce good ice, even for indoor rinks.

When that happens, it slows things down and you can run into issues with the puck jumping around.

Maybe the technology is better now. I know they've had an outdoor ice rink set up in the new downtown Raleigh ampetheather since T-giving, and also one in Cary, both within 5 miles of Carter-Finley Stadium.

If you do go, Canes fans tailgate. I hear was the first NHL city to start tailgating, but IDK. The football stadium is literally a 5-iron away from the hockey/basketball arena (Canes share the arena w/ the NC St basketball team, not to mention concerts and monster trucks and wrestling).
And if you do go, I can tell you where to go for restaurants or bars.
