Yeah I scratch my head and a lot of games this year.
I’m still scratching my head on how Kaneland beat Sycamore 28-7 and Sterling beat Kaneland 42-24? I guess it dosent matter now, the playoffs are here! I’m looking forward to Sycamore Montini game, winner should play Sterling in semis!
That's the ni B12. Similar scenario this year is Yorkville beat kaneland, DeKalb beat yorkville, kaneland beat deKalb.....last year, Dekalb beat kaneland, Morris beat deKalb, kaneland beat Morris... That's High School football.

NIB 12 well represented in playoffs for the last year. To bad sycamore and Rochelle have to meet in 1 St round.

Sterling got the best map to the semis that I have ever seen in all my years of watching playoff pairings, 2 CPL schools in first and second rounds and won’t have a game till the quarters,
and with a healthy Sterling should make it to the semis, if they are at home and healthy they have a shot at Montini, or against Sycamore, whoever makes it. It looks good to me!

is it a "good look" that he was dressed to play but did not get in the game on friday? seems like you got your answer to your question about winning being more important.
No, it does not look good and raises questions, in my opinion. I responded based on the info I saw from someone (still can't find that post) who spoke like they knew a lot about the situation (gone for the year but back after a week or two), Maybe that poster thinks they know more than they actually do. Does he make the team better with him practicing (scout team)? It sounds like a pretty good player (a leading rusher?). There appears to be some confusion with either how the situation was talked about (the post) or how it was handled (school leadership). I was confused - easy for me.

I do remember all that being posted about the boy being kicked off the team for disciplinary reasons. How someone can get reinstated back on the team after being kicked off is beyond me... rules are in place and student-athletes are supposed to follow them. He obviously did something bad enough to get him kicked off the team. What kind of message is that sending to the other players on the team. ? That they can do something wrong, wrong enough to get them kicked off the team but able to come back later???

We may never know the reason but if it is true that he was reinstated, it's got to raise eyebrows about the program.. it is possible it was a disgruntled Sterling poster. Like I said we may never know

i think some people use the terms suspended and kicked off interchangeably. the player in question was suspended from the team, not kicked off. at sterling, a first offense of the athletic code means an athlete must sit out of 25% of the regular season games. in football, that = 2 full games plus 1 qtr of a 3rd game.

anyway, the suspension was served by the player in question. despite that, he still did not play in friday night's game and it remains to be seen if he plays another down for sterling.

So how do we think the conference does in round 1?

Rochelle at Sycamore
Sterling vs Phoenix
Kaneland Vs Von Stueben
Yorkville Vs Dunlap
Dekalb vs LZ

I'll go:
Sycamore
Sterling
Kaneland
Yorkville
LZ

Rochelle ....pick em
Sterling ......running clock
Kaneland... They should win but what type of win depends on which kaneland team shows up
Yorkville.... Home field advantage, grass
DeKalb.... They always play better at home. Home field advantage

There is always someone that has to start negativity, we’re guys on a sports forum, not knowing the facts but what we heard, “kicked off the team” “not playing for disciplinary reasons”, we don’t know, I have no idea what the kid did but I assure you one thing, Sterling is a class act andwould never go against those rules. Give it a rest.

i agree. I responded to speculation and assumed the poster knew what he was talking about.

found it - Maybe this guy should read your post as well.

"one is definitely not coming back, even though he's not injured. other reasons. and he's a senior. he's done.

the other one tweeked his knee and is being held out for a couple weeks. he's expected to be back week 9 or round 1 of the playoffs."
