West Montgomery has a team that should contend for a title next year. But for being upset at home this year, they could have been in it at the end this year as they made it to the 3rd round in a "down year." Looking at the rising junior class, they will be in the hunt 2 years from now too. I would be very surprised if anyone would want to leave what WM has coming through over the next couple of years.

I think there are only a few jobs Eddins would take and Anson is not one of them, hometown or not. That is just my personal opinion.

I agree. I think Anson is a sleeper in 3A sports especially if more of the Union County schools move up to 4A in 2017, namely Weddington, Cuthbertson, and Sun Valley.

Would I want to go to a rebuilding project when I have a state title contender already rolling and big pockets to take care of my program.

I know from my perspective that we have a good coach. I can only hope from his perspective that he sees WM the same way, a great place to be. As a fan, that's all I can hope for.

Weddington, Cuthbertson, and Sun Valley arent even close to moving up to 4-A because of the redistricting that took place recently. Marvin Ridge is very close to 4a number though.

It would be great to see Porter Ridge and most of the other schools along with Anson have a 3A conference. If all the Union schools, except CATA, UA, and Forest Hills, were 3A I think that would be a solid nine team conference.

Cuthbertson was nearly 1,450 ADM for football this year which puts them in the 4A mix but I agree that the redistricting will probably lower that next year but they are using this year's numbers. The county AD is on the Board of Directors and I am sure he will show that they need to look Cuthbertson's numbers for next year.

Weddington was right at 1,350 and Sun Valley 1,300. Marvin Ridge and Porter Ridge are both right at 1,600. Piedmont 1,250. Parkwood at 1,000 which should go up as they get all four classes of students from the redistricting in the schools. Monroe is also at 1,000 and Forest Hills in the lower 900's.

Going to be interesting!

You would have to want that job to be a great replacement.

Any updates? Heard a few rumors but not sure about the reliability of the sources. Have interviews even started?

I bumped into the "man who knows" yesterday in Wadesboro. He said 60 applicants, no rush to name one...and confirmed only the names of those rumored already.

Nic Eddins is on the verge of winning a State Championship at West Montgomery with All that Talent coming back next year. Best wishes for the Warriors
