Way to bring it Defense!
The boys upfront delivered.
A 35-13 win is great way to start.

The Hill obviously reloaded. The D sounds like they wreaked some havoc, and a 99 yard TD run on O.

Is Provi that bad, or is JCA that good?

MCH - i think it's a bit of both. JCA was ready to play this game...not sure PC anticipated JCA being able to stop the run as well as we did, and from there, had a problem adapting.

When JCA brought pressure, PC had no shot. Both teams had a few plays that could have gone for scores, but did not, so i find the score to be a true measure of game. PC's line needs to step up and the passing game needs to improve for PC to fight through the blue. i think they can, but it can...and doing it...are two different things.

SO proud of the HILL. We have a bad history at PC and these kids just kept at it.

I was at the game and my takeaways were:

- JCA was the more ready/prepared team. Both teams possess talent
- JCA's game plan was to shut down the run and they did. Providence adapted going to RB Warfield in the slot and with bubble screens and wheel routes. This proved effective late in the 2nd and early in the 3rd. JCA adjusted to them bringing lots of pressure on the QB
- Providence's QB (making his first start) held on to the ball too long and at times tried to force too much instead of throwing the ball away or not recognizing the blitz.
- Both teams could've put more points on the board but didn't execute in the redzone

I anticipate both teams being even better by the end of the year.

Provi is now 1 dimensional and probably in BIG trouble in the Blue...except when they play Rita.

I wouldn't say solely one dimensional, but they have some work to do in the passing game. They had 2-3 passes which just missed and would've gone for touchdowns.

However I do agree that if they can't establish the run game while developing the pass game, they will be in trouble.

They have a junior Jared drake who is a better athlete and has done well at lower level. I know it was senior night and you want to give the senior a chance but he didn't look comfortable at any time. With their tough conference schedule coming up. They don't have time to wait. They should make the change now before they have dug too big a hole to craw out of. Drake is also a more accurate passer and throws a nice deep ball. They need a big improvement with both lines irregardless of the quarterback. I was really impressed with jca line backs and receiver. They had an excellent game plan for attacking provi. They defense was excellent.

Warfield alluded to possible changes at QB when I talked to him after the game, but not sure what the coaches are thining. I wouldn't be surprised if they rotated both over the next few games. The word out of training camp was the senior kid won the job. On the other hand, provi has seemed to struggled in the past when they have a senior qb in his first year starting (not saying that is the sole reason, just something I've noticed some years).

I agree jca executed their plan extremely well and were clearly more prepared. Provi secondary also stood out as an improvement area from what I saw last night.

Another area for Provi that needs improvement is their O-line. They struggled on pass and run blocking. IMO, JC's D-line dominated the LOS.
