How do we know he's bad?

We've never seen him play.

Not saying he is. Responded to a poster saying he was a good football player. I hope he is good. We've never seen him play. I mean if you just wanna say he's good then go for it. Hopefully I can agree after a few games.

A lot of guys on here remember the high school videos of the players, and most are talking about that. It is hard to tell if they have improved without playing much at this level.

If we listen to the coaches ...

Where Firios stands on the current depth chart isn't a knock on his ability at all.
Depth at this position is solid, although unproven I feel good about this group.
He will play and when he does he will hold his own if healthy.

This time last year and in 2014 folks on this board were raving about him. Hard hitting, aggressive, and tough they called Nico. Now they're just brushing him aside. SMH.....

Daniel is a Beast! He was a 4 star player who excelled in the Army All-American practices! You will be hearing his name a lot the next 4 years! He as listed by Stoops as one of the freshman who will play this year along with Snell And Young!

I think the problem with this thread is that we are not used to, as UK football fans, having a semi-complete roster. We obviously still have holes in important places, but its nice to see quality depth being built in certain positions.
Just because Nico isn't starting doesn't mean he is no good. We all agree that Horton and King, for example, have some talent at RB, but neither back will see a lot of carries this year (sans injuries) behind Boom, Jo Jo, and possibly Snell.
Let's let the season play out before judging who can play and who needs to move on. There have been plenty of squads in my lifetime that Nico might have started on - let's celebrate that he doesn't have to

That and the fact that some may not realize that your 3rd level players are important. Some guys not listed on the "2 deep" will see action on ST, and later on in the season, if not earlier be called on to play in the rotation as backups or possibly primary rolls. I'll never forget Derrick Locke's first year here. He was the 4th string running back but fortunately made the traveling squad for the Arkansas game. We lost 1, 2 and 3 in that game, and had to call on the true freshmen in the 4th quarter to help win a close game. If you are on the roster you never know when your number might be called.

So it makes sense that he not only sat behind Forrest but every player on the team after the redshirt and injury, so what is K time trying to say?
I am saying..
- I'm fine with Frios as depth at LBer
- Frios as a Rs So is behind a Jr and true Fr at the MLB spot
- The other interior LB spot is occupied by So and Fr

The likelihood of Frios being a factor at the LB spots for the foreseeable future isn't looking at that good at the moment...but until we see him play, who can tell.

Exactly, that's my point too.

This may be the single dumbest thread I've ever read on the UK football forum and that is saying something.

You actually have multiple UK fans saying a talented LB like Firios is "done" and no good just because he's not dominating.

Have you ever heard of "building depth" ?

The posters here criticizing Firios should be banned permanently for stupidity and knowing nothing about football.
