In Houston, TX, where the Althoff Crusaders are playing, the lights in the stadium went black at 00:09 in 1Q with Althoff leading 14-0.

I sure hope they can play this game after a 14-hour bus ride!

With 0:17 left in the half, Houston had the ball at the Althoff 15 and was intercepted. A Roughing the Passer put the ball at the 3 and the score the next play.

Althoff kicks to them in the second half.

Wasted opportunity.

21-7 Althoff with 6:39 in 3rd quarter.

This team is 2-4 but they have some players - including a D lineman headed to LSU.

28-7 at 4:00 in 3q.

Althoff stuffs them - but wait - Unsportsmanlike Conduct - new life, next play goes for a 30-yard score to end 3q.

They drive back after the game tonight, which has 7:03 left in the 4th.

6:52 - another Crusader rushing touchdown. 42-14 with 6:53 left.

Althoff did something strange tonight. They started the junior quarterback who started Game 1 but the sophomore started the rest of the games since, until tonight.

They ran option and other new things. He stayed in until the last minutes and in comes the sophomore running a few pass plays and the option ... so he’s healthy. Wonder what’s going on there.

Ritzy facility?
Not extravagant. Real grass but field was nice.

Now, where the Crusaders practiced - at a nearby public school - the commentators said it was a palace and used the expected cliche about everything being bigger in Texas.

Note that the team dined at McD for breakfast and What-a-Burger while on the road. This is no luxury trip

In the background of the football field was a baseball/softball complex with eight diamonds though.

Sounds like something that might happen at Homewood Flossmoor

A couple of cool items: during the "black out" the drum corps played in the stands and their drums lit up neon purple at each strike. Sounded great - looked spectacular in the black. Almost like rolling thunder and lightning.

While the kid commentators said nothing between Althoff and rural Texas looked much different than what they'd see on a local drive - fields and farms - they were awed by the size of everything in Houston: highways, skylines and local public football stadiums.

The boys are probably still south of the Arkansas/MO border and the commentators spoke of a watch party tonight to see where they play next week. They're either going to be very bonded or sick of each other.

Commentators did rave about What-aBurger but I meant “good food” - not fried fast food. I assume they found other better options for fuel yesterday.
