Big baby going to cry if I don't hit my ball on his schedule. Good luck with that.

[laughing] who said anything about crying? I'll f--king use you as target practice if you hold me up, bub. Ever been hit by a golf ball?

Like I've told you, just STFU and go shank another shot.

I jumped to no conclusion. You inferred in this reply that if I don't hit the ball on your schedule, too bad. That behavior on the course, does deserve a ball flown in their general direction for bad course etiquette, because that group has no business on a course. And with that, I take my leave.

I inferred no such thing. You are making a large assumption there. I'm done as well exchanging comments golf tough guys who think violence toward others, including kids, is okay because they are unhappy with the pace of play. If you really think that makes sense, you need to rethink your life.

Keep whining baby. You can't defend your idiotic comments, so you deflect. Maybe after someone runs over you a few times with their cart after you hit their kid with a golf ball you will rethink your attitude.
Afraid to fall back on your "balling " (sic) line huh? I understand. Grammar can be difficult sometimes.

Seriously though, who's crying? I'm merely telling you to STFU and hit your GD ball or else I'll use you as target practice. OTOH, you're the one droning on and on trying to defend your intentional slow play. Damn, if you talk as much on the course as you do in this thread you're even slower than I imagine.

Still the question remains: Are you going to STFU and hit your GD ball or not?

Golf is a game that is best learned how to play well when you are young. Took lessons from Dr. James Suttie as a kid and it has allowed me to enjoy the game ever since. IMO the best sport to ever get pretty decent at as if you are good you can enjoy playing it the rest of your life. As far as Nike equipment, I have never played them. As long as Ping keeps making equipment I'm good.

Did Dr. Suttie teach you to play at the proper speed and not waste everybody's time by relaxing and talking to your buddies on the course?

I'm no good so I always let people play through. My brother has a 2 handicap so when I play with him it's irrelevant.

I'm playing in a work scramble tomorrow. Last year the round took us over 5 hours. If that happens this time I'm gonna take my Nike golf shoe and put it up the *** of 32 handicap millennial douche who's also probably playing Pokemon.

Keep crying big baby. Your tears only make me laugh. 15 minutes per hole isn't slow. There is no excuse in trying to hit someone with a golf ball no matter how slow they play. The fact that you don't know this says more about how big of an idiot you are than all your crying combined.
Yeah, a 4 1/2 hour round is slow.

4 hours is acceptable, anything more is slow. 3 1/2 or better ftw.

Dude, 17 minutes a hole is over a 5 hour round. That is slow as crap, and you deserve to get hit into at that rate.

Finish up and spend that extra hour having a beer or two in the clubhouse. But get your slow *** moving.
Welcome to team "STFU and hit your GD ball "

When me and my buddy play we usually average about 15-18 minutes a hole. So when it's a fore-some just double it.
We aren't even average golfers (11-15) range.

Those numbers seem about right (not the handicap)?

Don't double for a foursome, just add about two minutes per hole. Don't know what the hell I was thinking other than I wasn't.

Even though I had decided not to post anymore in this thread, I couldn't resist one more. Most courses that I play use 14 minutes per hole as the pace of play. That is 4 hours and 12 minutes. So 4 hours is not considered acceptable, but a little quick. If you are playing at a pace of 3.5 hours, then you are rushing people ahead of you who are playing at the course prescribed pace of play. 3.5 hours is 11.66 minutes per hole. You're not going to find many courses that prescribe a pace that fast.

I really don't care about the time for pace of play. As long as the people in front of me aren't holding me up and I'm not holding the people behind me up I don't care if the round is 3 hours or 5 hours.

I just want to be able to play continuously without stops and starts for waiting on people. If no one is on front of me I'll normally play faster but if it's a crowded course on a weekend I can adjust and just enjoy being outside playing the game and enjoying the company of my buddies.

Honestly unless you are playing a really popular course, I don't think pace of play is crucial. Let the faster players play through and there's usually a gap where your group's pace of play doesn't interfere with anyone.

I agree with you 100%. I always let anyone playing faster than my play through. Generally, people let me play through as well.

"Prescribe "? [laughing] Who the hell talks like that? This isn't medicine, it's golf. Put down your thesaurus, say "recommend(ed) " like every other normal human being, then STFU and go hit your GD ball.

4 - 4:15, basically the same. Here's what I should have said.
  • Be ready to hit the touching ball.
  • Select your club and play grab *** with your pals while you're waiting for the fairway/green to clear.
  • When it is clear step up and play.
  • Hit a provisional while you're there so you don't have to go back and hit again.
  • Minimize downtime by doing stuff not related to hitting the ball and finishing the round while waiting to hit (after selecting the club for your next shot).
But, yes, 4 adults should be able to play 18 in 3:30-4:00. Saying 4:15 was acceptable applies to busy, packed scenarios with folks who have no idea about the game.

I opened the thread back up, and I was gonna be good, but most courses I have played at will give warnings to groups or make them let groups play through playing that slow. I golf in a group of three or four when I go, and two of those four usually walk the course, and we get 18 in in well under 4 hours.

If you take a full 14 on a par 3, you either suck, or are a douchebag. No reason to at worst, drive, chip, and two putt, hell, even three putt in 14 minutes. If you do, you deserve to have balls hurled in your direction.

And double it for a scramble. That's 9 GD hours to play. Uh, just no. It takes longer, but not 9 frigging hours.

I used Nike balls and shoes. Other than that, most of my gear is Ping. Everyone I golf with is Callaway or Ping users too.

Maybe paying out millions to Tigger and David Duval for doing absolutely nothing has broke their ***.

Have never played with Nike equipment but have hit their golf balls. The only piece of equipment I can recall ever seeing someone play was their Sumo driver that came out several years ago.

Their equipment was God awful ugly with the crazy colors and all. I never could figure out who they were trying to market to.

I have played with TM, Calloway, and Mizuno up until now. However, I am think about going all in on Titleist from Driver to Wedge and be done with it.
