I know most people live in the bubble of believing that players pick schools for natural reasons or that if someone is getting paid, it’s going to be broadcasted.... It’s not about who does and doesn’t do it, it’s about who’s smart about it.

UK, Kansas, UNC, IU, Duke, UNC, Nova, MSU, L’Ville, UCLA, (the list can continue) these schools have boosters and alumni so filthy rich they take care of whoever comes to town. Or, less popular schools grabbing the local high ranked recruit to be the in-state hero. We’re talking big time millionaires that would love nothing more than to spend their fortune on a championship banner. Same applies for shoe companies looking for the next star athlete to endorse.

I know someone is going to quote me and say it’s not true. Say it doesn’t happen at Duke. The reality is that it does. You think money is being thrown down on the table at Arizona, Kansas, etc. But Duke and UK are grabbing guys at twice the rate without money being involved? Come on now. I know Kentucky is a NBA factory and at Duke you get to play for a legend, but these are small factors in the world of cold hard cash. Right now the game is just all about keeping your mouth shut. Nobody wants to lose eligibility or be exploited, so the silence remains.

Eventually though... 2-5 years down the line, it will all bust open. It’ll be interesting, will the NCAA sanction all of its money making schools?
