what do these things look like? Do they have performance clause or a no quit clause? If there is as much discord going on with the team you’d have to think there is a possibility of a player quitting. Or what about the player that just shuts it down due to elective surgery? Do these guys make their money regardless? JQ for instance. Does he get paid even if he never steps foot on the court?

NIL is so broken. It was supposed to be so athletes could use their "Name, Image and Likeness" to make money from their own personal brand. The better you are and perform, the more desired you'd be by companies to be featured in ads and promos therefore making more money off your name and image. This upfront paying players through NIL collectives is such a flawed system.

I agree. Nil sucks. There seems to be zero transparency either. Like these contracts. I think it’s fair the consumer understands how these contracts may interfere with how a guy plays or whether he takes breaks etc. players getting paid nba money on college needs to be a very open book. Right now it’s sketchy as heck.

You cannot tie payments to performance.

Yes on JQ. He will collect every penny that’s been agreed to.

But, he certainly has the opportunity to make more deals if he plays.

And even more if he plays well.

Exactly how it was gonna go since they had Congress pass the law so quick. Like always it’s a mess.
