It will be bad for team morale, bad for coaches trying to keep it all together, and bad for a majority of fans in many, many ways. It is the end of another part of Americana and not unplanned (look at the origins, where it all began). There wll be no choice except to soon begin paying all players on all sports teams, from girls volleyball to mens football, and the costs will spiral out of control for the schools and the fans. It will be nothing but a version of professional sports.

Which is why I don't understand why people get so excited on commitments to their team. Means nothing now since the portal entry is so easy. Hurt feelings, they're gone.
