For the Best Team Ever.

Not surprised. Even with the 4 game streak it was premature to judge this team. Pikiell’s failure to recruit shooters and scorers caught up to him. Great defense, but if your only two shooters can’t put the ball in the bucket you’re done.

Just stop. We are NOT out of the NCAA conversation. My god! Stop with the defeatist attitude.

I agree. Stop the pouting. Our last 2 games are winnable. I’m going to say it again 18 wins and we’re in. It is still within our grasp. If Indiana is still in the NCAA with an at large bid after losing 5 straight themselves we sure are to. We need to go to Indiana and punch them right in the nose.
It’s still in front of them.

They did lose 5 in a row, but won their last game.

We got to win these games, if we going to punch our ticket. No matter how good a game it was.

Win 2 of next 3 we are in

One is a home game against a bottom half team

One is a road game against a bubble team that we have beaten over and over recently

One will be against another bottom half team on a neutral court

This isn't some miracle scenario to get in. It's still there for the taking.

Not defeatist. Just calling it as seen. Great game, had chances to win and didn’t capitalize. Team has very little room for error. Win last two and you are barely on the bubble. Need a lot of luck after that with conference auto bids and table runners. But you have to win both to have that conversation.

Win 3 more games of any kind and we are pretty solidly in. It’s not easy but it can certainly be done.

Beat Indiana / Beat Penn State / Win a game in Big 10 Tourney and it ll be tough to keep us out

Easier said than done.

If we make NIT, I doubt Harper plays and I’d say it’s unlikely Geo plays.

need to win those two and make waves in the tourney if not win it all in order to make it into the dance.

Net rating is low, we've lost 3 in a row, basically any other loss regular season or Big Ten tourney before the third round probably finishes us off.

We agree on a lot on these boards, but not many chances to win with the performance in the first half and a total of 6 assists and a 25% assist rate. RU simply got beat. No need to throw in the towel yet.

BTW, Aaron Breitman and OTB are infinitely better than a lot of our fans on providing reasonable and calm perspective after losses.

This team has either been very good or very lackluster all year.

Purdue away is the only game where I'd say they were good in defeat.

If the good team shows up next week - maybe we get in. But if the team from tonight and Michigan, and many other games this season shows up - forget it.

I will agree to that. Mulcahy has got to get his head on straight. Love his growth but his absence from the floor has really cost us the last 2 games.
Don’t be thinking NIT. It stands for “Not In Tournament “. Positive thinking people, positive.

Win next two and 1 in Indy. We'll be favored in 2 of those 3 games.

If not, lets hope we get a great seed in the NIT and have all home games up to the final four at the Garden.

A NIT Championship would be huge for the program. Even though many of you here wont believe so.
The NIT is meaningless . No one cares about that tournament . We should have learned our lesson in 2004.

I don’t think 14 losses with our horrible NET, cupcake OOC schedule, and some terrible losses gets us in. Must win the next two, then either win another one or pray.

Harper will be drafted. Why risk an injury to a meaningless tournament. Same reason why Bo Melton / Pacheco etc didn’t play in gator bowl

I’m speculating but I’d be surprised if Harp plays in NIT.
Isn’t that a stretch in saying that RHJ might not play to avoid injury? This not playing to avoid injury might be understood in football but now basketball . The guy could be walking to a class and step in a hole and break his ankle. Just wrap them in bubble wrap.
