After 4 months, I’m interested to hear your thoughts about the two PSU boards, and if you think one will eventually supplant the other.

I posted this on the Nittany Lounge, as well, but wanted to see what the feelings were here, too.

McAndrew gives schnyderong an A$$. BEATING. o_O .

I haven’t been on schnyderong’s board since November. Once I saw that he was allowing sandusky horse-a$$ on the Rivals rutgres board after wasting no time in posting heavy-handed rules on the PSU board, I decided he can f*ck himself for eternity, twice.

Well, I stayed on the other board, but frankly, it did not seem to have the same vibe. This board has, apparently, more of the old posters, but it's also not the same vibe. This one seems to be a bit better, although no sig pics can be posted, and as @LionJim has indicated - no delete button.

I will venture over there from time to time, but will spend most of my time over here.

Yes, different vibe. I won't try to analyze it, but it's a more relaxed vibe, more chill.

Yep.....moderated site that tries to keep people on point versus a double test board. That is basically what it turned into ...it's an echo chamber over there.

yeah that's what i noticed too. even when the McA board was over there, just by having the test board within reach caused some bleed over to the McA board. Some of the "old timers" tried to moderate it over there, but the force was too strong. I think by not having one here, it keeps the riff raff out a bit more. still have some of the holdovers here that try to take conversations into the test board gutter however I think that the majority of us will correct the behavior as soon as we see it. I think the majority of us have had enough time away from the sludge that the stink of said board is off of us. we've had our rehab and we're clean.

as far as visiting that site, I haven't since folks started calling out Ritchie on his shenanigans and he responded with bannings and childlike retorts

I don't post much, though I've been a lurker since (I think) 1996. I expected almost everybody to move to this board. I was wrong.

I understand that I have no control, but I think the split hurt the PSU message board community....if there is such a thing. It may be because the transition has been mostly off-season; but IMO, what made the old board great was a sense of community of sorts along witht he sheer volume of regulars. It feels like that has been lost when split into two boards. It's got an odd feel, to be honest. Like something is missing from both boards.

I have a real problem with having a Rutgers homer running the other board. The arrangement seems phony. Like he's always trolling PSU.

There’s no question that some fine posters didn’t make the switch over here. Regardless, what are you going to do? One can’t put Humpty Dumpty together again.

So, we have Buckeyes and skunk bars all over ESPN/ABC/BTN/FOX, another Buckeye as a PSU "beat writer," and now a Rutgers guy who runs a PSU message board.

It almost seems as if there is no outlet for any semblance of Nittany Lion "homerism."

Geez, when Jack Ham retires, will a former Pitt player replace him?

This board, as with the old one, is what we make it. I am generally pleased with the direction here. There seems to be more congeniality. I do miss some of those who stayed at the old site. ILLINOISLION comes to mind. He has not been here since December but I checked and he posted at the old site this past week. There are others, but I have no desire to split my time between the two boards and so here I will stay.

I can’t even think of who didn’t make the move. Who are we talking about?
