The 23 districts and overall quality of teams per people in the state. When you can count on less than two hands the # of teams able to compete with the top teams the state is bad. And now 15 mins per week of live action.Bones,
Please define what you mean by “Bad football state” is it the 23 divisions, the disparity created when the state athletic association decided to split public and private, or the football talent level?
Regarding the new live tackling restrictions, 6 hrs a week in summer should allow the coaches to get the kids prepared for the season. Regarding the 15 minutes of live tackle a week in the season, the highly successful programs I’ve been around in IL, PA, TX, TN, and others very rarely go any more than thud up in practice during the season; furthermore when kids tackle “starters” to the ground, they often get some discussion time. When it comes to the D1 college level, even during upcoming camp, tackling to the ground is limited to the younger guys to see how the stack up and rarely, if ever, lasts more than 30 minutes.
I know programs that limit their hitting during the season (and off season as well) but why even stop at 15 mins, just eliminate it all together.O’Neil said “The one sure way to limit injury” um how is failing to prepare limiting injury? So they don’t hit at all during the week then, play on Friday’s and Saturday’s and get hurt because they don’t know how to properly tackle.
Sorry if I’m missing something here
I don't think we tackle more than 15 minutes a week at Naz especially the further into three season we get. Come playoff time we barely thud.Bones,
