People here got down on me when I started a thread (that was deleted by the mods) that said "PENN STATE IS BACK!!!". This PSU team is for real
and a serious threat.
Penn State is a very good team.
Franklin is a hell of a coach, unfortunately..who gets the best out of his players and can recruit. ugh.

Not trying to flame, that was Gesicki. He has had one hell of a year. Very happy for the kid because he couldn't catch a cold his first two years.
Also, not that you care (and I've said it before here) but what Pry has done with our defense is nothing short of amazing. We play 12 along the DL and ALL of them are coming back.
They haven't played anyone, they beat Osu on a fluke play, the rest of their schedule sucks.
We beat OSU. Call it a fluke if you like but there are no asterisks when it comes to Ws and Ls.
We all dislike psu but if they win the big ten then they deserve to be in the playoffs regardless of what anyone thinks
Penn State would still need to beat a very tough Wisky team in the B1G Championship. If they were to do that though, I have to believe they are in. If not, that's fine. The play of this team has far exceeded my expectations and I'll be happy no matter what happens out from here.
Thats fine, I will give you that, you lost to Michigan by 40, and lost to Pitt, Penn st shouldn't even be in the playoff discussion.
Good Lord, there are some seriously mad people ITT. Looks like we are going to finish 10-2 and play for the B1G Championship. Regardless of what happens from here on out, I'm pretty satisfied with how our season turned out.

You should be, you have had a great season, and an unexpected great season, just not good enough to get into the playoffs.
Lots of people here, and all over the country..don't like your football program..rightfully or not.

I've said it before, but I admire the **** out of what Penn State players and coaches have accomplished. Nobody gave them a shot a getting this done. Hats off from this Terrapin fan...
Pitt didn't whip them. PSU lost by 3 and were driving for the win when the qb threw an interception. Since week 4 they are the most improved team in the country. If the beat Wisconsin they deserve the playoffs.
The Michigan State coach has a giant sour puss on his face. The cameraman made sure to zoom in on that.
It's not dislike. If you have an undefeated SEC champ, a 1 loss B1G team that the committee clearly LOVES, a 1 loss ACC champ, and a 1 loss PAC 12 champ, they're all going in ahead of any 2 loss team, even the conference champs.
And I believe conference champs should go, but that's not the way the current system works. I think a 6 team playoff would work best with a system like college basketball. All P5 champs get automatic bids with the highest ranked G5 conference champ getting the 6th. Then they do it like the NFL playoffs, top two get 1st round byes and lowest seeded team plays #1. But for that to work they'd have to move the dates of the NY6 games, which will never happen.
I'm not a fan of the Nits and wish them the worst each and every game they play.
But have to admit they look like a top program this year or on the way to being one. As for Franklin. I said he was a lousy game-day coach offensively and that might be true.
But this year his OC seems to be a good one , which makes Franklin better as a game-day HC and can't call him a poor game day coach anymore.
As for the playoffs, if a B1G team goes , it should be the winner of the B1G Championship game and it looks like it's going to be the Nittany Lions and Badgers in that game.
I'm mule-headed and stick to my opinion that only the conference champion, not any other conference team, should be eligible to be in the running for the National Championship..

I would say Alabama is in, win or lose against Florida in the conference championship. OSU is also in. Washington is in if they win the PAC-10 championship. Clemson is in if they win out. PSU needs to beat Wisconsin AND get help.
I don't know if PSU is a great team but they have one of the best WR corps I've seen in awhile. QB just needs to chuck the ball down the field and Nit WRs snag anything near them - and in traffic to boot.
