Haven't read the article but I assume that it is Kansas according to 24/7. The state of Kentucky finally gets two top 15 ranked kids and both are going to Kansas. That SUCKS!

feels like another caleb wilson situation, where our staff was acting certain he'd come here, only for him to end up somewhere else. more negative recruiting against Pope

Had the same problem with guys whining about Stoops leaving but they’re gone now that Stein is killing it, that’s what we need on the basketball side dude.

That said if I’m a big time recruit- the way JJ is being utilized would definitely be a negative.
JJ played on a lot of AllStar teams & recruiting is now a social media swamp that is exposing Pope as a hindrance to NBA DREAMS.
Jasper is being utilized the way he is because he has NBA Dreams but YMCA Rec league defensive effort.

This team's issues have been bigger than a lack of talent...We have plenty of talent and of depth, everywhere but PG. We had depth there but the kid broke his word and commitment, so f him.
Bottom line, the fit and chemistry might well be off but we have the talent on this roster. Most of the naysayers agreed with that a few months ago. I guess I'm glad they weren't in charge then EITHER!
Nobody saw this coming the way it did. If ya say ya did, I simply don't believe you! The good news is, we won and we looked better than we have all season. I hope we build on that.

Is this the point where we begin to degrade the player's character and dismiss him as someone who wouldn't be a good fit, simply because we have a coach who can't land him?
I think about if I was a father of an elite player, and I didn't have any Kentucky connections at all. If I looked at the world completely neutral in terms of being a fan of any particular program. Would I let my son go play for Mark Pope? Would I let him play for Pope knowing that he might only play 20 minutes a game in a program that is predicated on routine and system more than it is adaptation. Would I let him go play for a man who has never won more than 24 games in a season, who has never advanced past the sweet 16, and who by seasons end will have lost at least 10 games in 9 out of the 11 seasons that he's been head coach? Would I let him go play for a guy who has never coached a first round pick in his life?
I don't think that I would, and I don't think many of you would either. We've got the biggest dork in college basketball running this program, and if he was coaching any of our rivals we would be absolutely lighting him on fire with relentless mockery.

We were conned. We were sold a bill of goods. The program desperately needs to get away from Pope after this season. It’s already hurting the fanbase, the standards have already been lowered

3 Portal players???? You don't think a Yaxel Lendeborg or Joshua Jefferson type PF could be in the portal? Or JT Toppin, Trey Kaufman-Renn, Michael Ajayi. I don't know who'll be in the portal, but a guy like Morez Johnson might be and I'd take him over Stokes every day of the week. Not trying to argue for the sake of arguing, and your opinion can certainly differ. But I don't particularly sweat not getting Stokes. However, I would agree that Pope must get some more players - two Guards are critical I think (one true PG and another combo Guard at a minimum) and preferably three.
And Pope has shown he can’t get any of those guys. Maybe if they have to sit half the season with injuries, he can get those type of recruits?
Matt Jones is mad at JMI for the cease and desist letter and him being given less access, it has to be true, it just has to. There’s language, and handcuffs, and flexibility, it’s clear as day. All the KSR guys put out reports saying so.
