This match wasn’t. I have to admit, I know next to nothing about the game but, the Mountaineers defense was exciting to watch.
Been a minute since we won a title in rifling, longer than I first thought anyways.
Soccer would be exciting in your eyes if we won a national championship. You just demean it because Marshall won the championship a few years back.
What's there to know other than to kick ball into opponent's goal or prevent other team from kicking it in your goal?
Soccer can be exciting, College Soccer is a weird bastard child in World Soccer that is uniquely American where colleges are fighting for “tweeners” who are not good enough to be professionals at 18 and the pool of talent is mostly American, which globally is not a very good talent pool.
So I would think the schools like UNC, Stanford, etc who have optimal weather most of the year and can offer academic excellence would be the schools at the top of the rankings, I never would have expected not just one, but both WV schools to be destinations in college soccer.

How teams competed or were depleted that year due to covid? The last year WVU had a good shot at going deep in the NCAA tourney that tournament was cancelled due to covid. I think that was the same year.
I have no idea who has won anything at soccer period. You are an *** and do not belong on a WVU board turd fan. If not for channel flipping due to FIU vs Sam Houston and Jacksonville State vs WKU in 2 of the most boring football games in the history of the sport I would not have even known WVU vs Marshall was even playing much less that both were ranked in top 5.

I have been to a couple of premiership soccer games in England. It's a big difference than the product you have here in the states. The atmosphere is incredible and the pace of the game is so much quicker. We don't really have big time soccer in the states. MLS is really a bush league. Anyone who gets to experience a soccer match in Europe would have more of an appreciation. I would'nt expect that from some in this thread. Some of these posters made fun of a man's death so why would you expect an insightful response.

Allen either has dementia, some sort of split personality disorder or is a compulsive liar. I remember his anti-soccer rants at the time and was trying to figure out what got him started on that topic. Then I was informed about Marshalls National championship. It made perfect sense then. What I don't understand is why a man who professes his hate for a sport would get so butt hurt if another in state university won a title in it.
