Holy crap it was a very good movie. Laughed my pass off from the opening credits till the screen went black for good. Reynolds absolutely kills this one and puts the stench of Green Lantern behind him forever.

Highly recommend. Thoughts?

I've never read any of the comics, so I knew very little about the character... but I thought the movie was a blast! From what I read online about fans and RR pleading for an R-rated version... they were right. Watering it down to PG-13 level wouldn't have been 1/4 as much fun.

I laughed out loud several times, along with everyone else in the theater. I'll have to see it again, as I'm sure I missed a few of the jokes.

I mentioned in another thread about how much I enjoyed this movie. If you are a Marvel fan or even if you like dark comedy, you will love this movie. Probably in my Top 2 or 3 Marvel movies of all time.

I only have one complaint about the movie...

we saw a lot more of RR's nekkidness, than we did of hers:

I borrow the comics from the local library. They don't have single issue comic books, they have these semi hard glossy books that contain the whole story. I imagine the worth for the single issues would prevent local libraries from doing those.

If you hit me up via email with a list, I can download you any comic you want. I just bought the dark knight returns (but have the comic on my computer as well). You just need a computer, tablet, or smart phone to read it.

So if he heals like Wolverine, why is his skin so jacked?
Thats a good question. Had to look that up. Here is what wiki says:

Deadpool suffered from some form of cancer. After the healing factor was given to him, it made his normal cells as well as his cancerous cells unable to die, giving him a heavily scarred appearance beneath his suit

It is just my opinion but when it comes out on Redbox I will not waste a $1.25 to watch it again.

Deadpool isn't the type of movie for you. It has a very cult like following that's about to increase its membership. When Wolverine 3 comes out R rated, thank Deadpool.

Marvel just found out that it can make money and still be R rated.

The reddit circle jerk on this movie was something to behold for sure. Seems like there has been a thread everyday about it on the front page since it was just a rumor.

Some brilliant marketing went into making this movie the hit that it is.

Won't catch it in the theater but I don't catch anything in the theater anymore. Will Redbox.

So behind on movies. Finally going to the theater tomorrow for the first time in over a year. Either this or The Revenant. I've wanted to see the Revenant once I read what it was about from the teaser trailer, but I keep hearing great things about Deadpool.

I typically like superhero type movies but this one just didn't appeal to me. I guess I like my superhero character to not seem like he was created by the Farrelly brothers but a lot of people did like it. It's why they make all kinds of movies. I just will not go pay to see the sequel.

I'm assuming you knew absolutely nothing about the character, and only went to see it because it was a superhero movie? Because they pretty much nailed the comic book Deadpool.

Havent seen the movie yet, but seems like Ryan Reynolds was born to play this role.

It didn't hit me when I was at the movie, but I just recently realized the scenes in the credits were acting like Ferris Bueller's Day Off. That random noise he did at the end was from the music in that movie and the walking around in the robe was as well. Maybe I am a little slow and everyone else figured that out at the movie, but it just hit me when I was thinking about the movie yesterday.

Yeah, you're definitely slow there. It's okay though.

I only saw it because I had taken my daughter and her friends to watch a movie and didn't want to watch a chick flick. I didn't read the comic books and knew nothing about it other than the hype. Obviously I am in the minority because a lot of people liked it but I just didn't care for it. To each his own.

Oh, for sure. I'm just saying that the fact that you didn't enjoy it has less to do with it being "bad" or a poor adaptation, more that you probably wouldn't care for Deadpool as a character anyway. Which is perfectly valid. Just from a film making perspective, I think they accomplished exactly what fans of the character wanted them to.

Saw it last night. I'm not a comic book fanboy but it was entertainment for a couple hours. Pretty predictable story. Couple are in love, couple gets seperated, guy beats bad guy gets girl back.

This movie was a tremendous adaptation of its comic book. Read it has made right at 500 million in two weeks worldwide. Hopefully we get more adaptations like this one.
