I beg to differ. Pointing out coaching "mistakes" is not a skill. Claiming every percieved failure as a "mistake," is an oversimplification that often is embraced by fans. All done without knowing the context in which a decision was made (the factors that determined the decision) and if the "failure" was due to bad strategic logic or player execution error. Coaches get to make a decision once. Fans get to evaluate it for years. You’ve never explicitly stated that coaches are infallible. You have disputed or mocked every post that has pointed out coaching mistakes or placed blame upon them. That’s the same thing.
Blaming every loss and "bad bounce" on the coach, is akin to ancient civilizations (thru ignorance) blaming natural disasters or something as simple as bad weather on angry gods. It somehow comforted them to have an explanation.
Penn State entitled fans are learning that each week half of all competing teams lose. They've mastered the skill of blaming loses on coaching. They have yet to embrace the flip side. Its reassuring for some to embrace the concept that its always the fault of coaching. Visit some other fan sites. Its a common malady. Do you recall the Ohio State fanbase insisting that Ryan Day should be fired last season after the Michigan loss? How could Day be so stupid in November and so brilliant in January? Fanboys.....gotta love em.
