MTSU women's basketball postpones first two games against Louisville, Vanderbilt due to COVID. The Middle Tennessee State women's basketball season opener against No. 5 Louisville and another home game against Vanderbilt have been postponed due to COVID-19, according to MTSU Athletic Director Chris Massaro.
Middle Tennessee State said in a statement that its women's basketball team had two positive tests on Friday. Those tests initiated contact tracing protocols that ruled out additional people. The school did not specify if the positive tests came from players, coaches or other staff.
(The UofL announcement below):
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Entering the first week of the 2020-21 season, University of Louisville women's basketball announced that Middle Tennessee has canceled the season opener on Wednesday.
It marks the second schedule change already this season as Bellarmine canceled the contest at the KFC Yum! Center on Dec. 6 last week.
Louisville women’s basketball head coach Jeff Walz is seeking replacements for both games and they will be announced when they become available.
