No more Dawgs, Buckeyes or Crimson Tide . . . . I like it!

It is surprising that Ohio State, Alabama and Georgia are all out. I know I would not have expected that back in September.
I guess I am pulling for Ole Miss. That’s a surprise too because l really don’t like Kiffin. Obviously, it looks like Indiana will probably prevail. However it’s college football and anything can happen.

Byes appear to be the kiss of death.
So far teams with byes 1-7
I expect this will be rectified quickly. Look for 16 teams next year.

But, really, I think Dan Lanning had the best suggestion: start the playoffs immediately after the season ends. A bye week is likely helpful, but a bye month makes you rusty.

2026/2027 is scheduled to remain at 12 teams next year, unless of course commissioners of both B1G and SEC come to some kind of early agreement, but from what I understand there remains quite a void between the 2 proposals of how to proceed with the seeding.

I think the 1-7 record for byes will help bridge that void. It's an untenable situation and, in hindsight, seems like an obvious flaw in the current system.
