No One is as Good or Bad as You Think They Are

In the modern version of college football, parity has finally hit home. Virtually every team has good players. "Upsets" have become the norm as supposedly "terrible" teams beat supposedly "good" teams nearly every week. Georgia get's beat by Vandy, Clemson fights for its life against NC State, Duke nearly clips OTIS, A&M spanks UT last week--no one is safe (or hopeless!).

No team, none of them, are as good or as bad as you think they are. Virtually anyone is capable of winning any game. And that, folks, is what makes college football awesome, so much better than the NFL.

I agree with what you said outside of the A&M spanked UT part. I don't qualify beating a team who turned the ball over 6 times and needing an OT interception for the win much of a spanking...but yes, anything can happen.

Outside of the true elite teams you are right. And they may get a scare or two. I don't think Otis or Clemson are elite. Bama and Ohio state. Washington out west and after that anyone can lose

This is why "guaranteed wins" and "guaranteed losses" aren't reality....and why they play the games.

This point in the season there is too much on video. 35 point confernce wins are rare. That is one reason smart money poured in on Duke on Friday.

So wins over Rutgers, Idaho, Portland St. 2-4 Arizona, 2-4 Oregon and Stanford who has been blown out their last two games and are now unranked makes Washington Elite ?

Yes, yes it does. Does that make sense to you now. They are elite and Louisville isn't.

I never said UofL was elite but what was Washington's one good win doesn't look so good now that Stanford is currently unranked. So I don't see how that makes Washington elite.

I believe Louisville is elite with Jackson at QB, he is that good. Without him they are a 7-5 or 8-4 type team.
