it's kinda nice once you accept it. I have absolutely ZERO expectations for this football program while Stoop is here. No angst, no worries, and as I mentioned ZERO expectations. UK is a basketball school, and that identity was chiseled into granite by Stoops himself.

I held onto basketball cussing and hooting and hollering for the last 7 years while cal was here. I told myself after this year with Stoops and the trajectory of the football program that I'm not doing this **** again. I'm done watching until that clown is gone from the football program! I'll watch basketball and all the other sports but football will be on the back burner until that clown is gone!

Unless FB starts winning again and then you'll be right back like the typical bandwagon fan.

That’s the problem he’s lost the program and just like Cal they won’t start winning again. Stoops is Cal’s twin brother. They already got their cash so no need in winning they aren’t paid to win!!!!! You’re on fantasy island if you think Stoops is ever going to win again!!!

I'm trying to picture Cal and Stoops as twin brothers. Devito and Arnold.

Not having football expectations gives me stress. As a UK grad and lifelong football guy, it really makes me hate sports, period.

I never made any proclamations about winning. Nothing is guaranteed. I was just pointing out the fact that this is a bandwagon mentality.. I am a UK fan and I will follow and root for the cat's regardless of who is coaching them (short of something highly unsavory i.e. Paterno). To say it is certainty he can not win consistently again is as goofy as claiming otherwise.

I'm a UK fan too and I know I said what I said but it's in my blood to always root for the Cats that won't ever change. My problem is I saw it with Cal and Stoops is going down the same road. He shouldn't have to rebuild a program he's been in since 2013 he just shouldn't if anything he should be reloading. I'll put it to you another way I just won't plan my life around football like I always have if I'm not doing something with the family then I will watch if I am then I will just catch the score at a later time. When Mitch decides he wants to take football serious again then that's the time I will take it serious again too.

Of course id rather have both. Isn’t happening.

I have worries that that clown is gonna sink us to the point where next guy whether Sumrall or anyone else is going to be in a massive rebuild and take several years to even be respectable again 😢😢

Refreshing, now that the program is back in the hands of responsible adults. Yes, much less stress, much more joy and ecstasy, and none of the outright anger felt in the aftermath of so many games these last few years. It is a real joy to know Mark Pope could lead us for the next 20+ years, and though I might not be here to witness it, many of you will, and will be thoroughly pleased I am sure.

I would say that you're unfortunately right. Considering the resources and monetary incentives provided, not to mention fan support, looking at the condition of this program now, Stoops is the last person to "fix" it. If Mark didn't have a brother named Bob who was a very successful coach at Oklahoma, he would have never been hired to coach at UK ... and that was on Mitch. JMO.

I’m with you, brother. Isn’t it sad to think we won’t be here 20 years from now?

I will say that under the last several years probably since COVID I never actually cared about UK bball. I was numb to the point where if we lost to litterally anyone I wouldn't have even been upset about it.
3 games already this year I've shown more joy and caring than I have the last 5 years of Cal. Reed and Rob almost roped me back in and I cared a little more than I had been but alas Cal ruined that too.

What he fixed when taking over for Joker was exponentially worse.

I won't disagree with your point but will only say that he can't seem to build on his successes and the program is now in a tailspin. Some coaches reach ceilings and Stoops apparently has reached his. For every step in the right direction, we've seen two in the wrong direction.

I have no clue if he'd actually do it but i'd make a strong offer and pitch to Neal Brown as OC..

I always liked Brown but doubt he wants anything to do with Bob's little brother. I wonder if coaches are actually jumping at the chance to work under Stoops. His tenure at UK has always been one of mismanagement and a revolving door of assistant coaches. Stoops has never been able to kick off the training wheels and not sure he will ever get there. He's had every chance but always seems to consistently find ways to undo any progress he's made. He's squandered all the good will he's earned from his earlier years and that's not mentioning his attempting to bolt for TA&M. He needs to go.
