I'm disappointed in ol' Brooksie. Brooks just had his rear end handed to him and I guess that didn't sit well. That, and not being able to make lots of short putts puts one in a bad mood. Never mind tying for second place and winning just over $1 million. So, he's a whiny-*** millionaire who plays golf for a living and thinks his download doesn't stink. WWBS? C'mon Man! You're part of a dull class.
Knee surgery in March and you're good enough to compete two months later. OK. And you're whining like a 12-year old that the crowd was "dinging" my knee. Make that a 7-year old. Pal, if you're that worried about your knee, you shouldn't be out there doing the exact things to your knee that caused you to have surgery...that's awfully smart.
You look like you're going to bust the arms on your shirt, and you're dressed like you're wearing a Goodwill polo without the buttons buttoned...cool look but certainly not the look of a PGA tour professional and certainly not something the greats would endorse, and you're griping about or maybe jealous of DeChambeau working out and looking all puffed up just like yourself. Have some respect for a guy who is a little different and maybe even a bit odd, but whose position on tour is just as much earned as it is by you. So, you don't like him--you come across as a whiny baby, rolling your eyes and cursing during your own press interview...geez, grow up, would you!
Brooks' tobacco spitting while playing a round should worry him more than DeChambeau or most anything else, lest he causes his own poor teeth to rot out when he turns Phil's age and to imagine Arnie or Jack doing that while playing is simply unimaginable. I don't care for it, but he's within the rules, although in my view his decorum takes a hit.
These deeds are witnessed facts that cause me to like and respect Brooks or not. Right now, I can't imagine he's real popular with lots of people. Bryson is a bit quirky. Brooks is a whiny, sore losing baby. So there. Nobody's perfect, are we? He needs to grow up. He could use a double shot of humility. Sure, he has four wins in majors, but admits he doesn't quite focus on other tournaments like the majors. Maybe that--and other mental issues--is cause for self-reflection and some good hard work (Ask Phil!), but only when you give your repaired knee the respect it deserves and the time to heal. And by the way, part of the respect for being a PGA Tour player is knowing when to keep quiet.
He's a fabulous, world-class talent, but maybe we'll see a wiser and more appreciative and humble man as the years go on.
