Don’t blame Noah because Pope is doing a bad job. This is all Mitch’s fault for hiring a coach that wasn’t ready for this. Coaching at UK and playing at UK are totally different things
Let’s not forget we had no players on last years team because they followed Cal toHogland. Basically the same thing this year. 2 Freshmen, Noah, Garrison and Chandler 2 years out of basketball. Like Pope or not, he’s not had it easy here when UK fans act like asses when you lo

Noah needs to take at least 7 shots per game from 3 in a perfect world. I really believe he could have won the UNC game with more shot opportunities and playing time.

I like pope as a person. I just said he’s doing a bad job right now. He’s been saying the same thing.

He’s out there for 1 reason. Shoot the three. He’s wide open more than once, pass , turnover, repeat. I’m going directly at his as* if I’m opposing coach.
Maybe there was an emphasis on running the offense in practice this week. Part of our problem is none of the players encouraging each other. Maybe he needs one of his teammates needs to threaten him with a punch to the face if he is open and doesn’t shoot, like Reed’s teammate on the Rockets did.

Noah is 100% UK. Blue all the way through. He came here knowing what his role is and leans into it totally. He is more effective when or if we have someone who can beat his man to rim and pass out along with another 3 point maker. He becomes exponentially better when he plays with better teammates who are willing passers.
His skill set is replaceable but his heart and love for the University of Kentucky is not so much.

Yes, last year we had guys who could shoot, pass and they liked each other. Noah was able to get good open looks last year. With our roster this year he's having to create his own shot and he isn't quick or athletic enough to do so.

He's one of my least concerns because he hustles and wants to be here. He would be a good role player for us but unfortunately we have a lot of selfish guys who aren't interested in passing or winning.
I agree, but he’s missing wide open looks. Aberdeen was a better player last year, Kam Williams shot 42% last year, he's shooting 20% this year and most of his misses, are bricks. Jelly had 4 airballs last night.
My point is, the whole thing is broken and whatever is going on, is killing everyones confidence.

I agree the team is wrecked with no direction. Something is going on for sure and its drained the team. That falls on Pope as the coach to handle and repair. My fear is the team has tuned him out.

Problem is, Pope obviously hasn't hit bottom yet. He’s obviously not desperate enough yet.
I watched his post game presser, he's still too soft to call out his players and he always ends any critisism with a comment that like "I need to do a better job, I'm the one to blame". Yeah, he's still too soft to fix the problem. Pitino and Izzo don't chicken out and take the blame, they call it what it is and until Pope starts doing that, I have no faith in him to fix this.
This team is getting worse each game. Pope needs to put the goofy dad/church mentality aside and start ripping the culprits that are making millions.

Agree 1000% . His shtick isn't working and he doesn't realize it yet or its just not in him to call folks out. Players dont respect weakness. Pitino sat their best player for the last 8 minutes of their tourney game last year against Arkansas due to effort and pouting .

Izzo would not put up with that crap either. Nor Oats and the list would go on with coaches that have a spine.

Noah was committed to South Carolina. If you are offered a scholarship in one of the major conferences, then you are a D-1 player. Noah is the least of our problems. The problem is that we don't have top tier major conference players that allow the role players to do what they are supposed to..

Noah isn’t the problem, so I don't know why we are picking on him.

Pick on the guys that are getting 5 times Noah's $, that are supposed to be the leaders of the team.

Noah did some really good things as a role player last year, in particular, @ Tennesee. He’s simply a role player that comes in to spell other players, he's the least of our worries.

This team hates each other, there is something going on in the locker room and it has the rest of the team in limbo, that includes Noah, Chandler, JJ and Aberdeen. Those are the guys put there playing hard.

I'll take a mid player that plays hard, over a stud guy that is mailing it in and pouting.
Agreed there is something going on. Roster construction is a major problem, but these guus are good enough to not get blown out by everyone. We may never find out what the deal is.

You’re gonna miss shots if you take them. Thats part of it. Can’t make them all but he’s still shooting 45% for the year. Jelly & Williams, not so much.

Noah hasn’t been getting the ball when he is open in the corner. The point guards are not looking for him. Players need to know why Trent is on the floor and make a conscious effort to get him the ball.
I remember two years ago when Reed had a good game shooting the ball his teammates seemed to be happy about it. Not sure that would happen with this bunch.

He is a very good role player. Should play a little more not less

Like I said, the whole thing is broken, from stem to stern, it's broken and these young guys resort to me-ball to try to fix it. That's the worst thing you can do.
Fact is, this team is losing these games long before they even step on the court. They hate each other and they don't care about anyone but themselves.
Good luck trying to fix that.
